Ukraine is unable to counter Russia's Oreshnik missile.

The Kyiv Independent quoted Syrskyi as describing Russia's new Oreshnik missile as "a threat that currently only a few air defense systems in the world can intercept," while also acknowledging that Ukraine does not possess any such weapon.

Mirage 2000 fighter jets carrying missiles are being transported to Ukraine.

"This has prompted us to actively negotiate with our allies to acquire capable systems, as well as to produce our own modern missiles capable of intercepting Russian weapons," said Syrskyi. The Ukrainian general also revealed that the country will develop its own air defense system with capabilities equivalent to the US Patriot system.
