Ukraine cannot deal with Russia's Oreshnik missile

The Kyiv Independent quoted Mr. Syrskyi as describing Russia's new Oreshnik missile as "a threat that only a few air defense systems in the world can currently intercept," while admitting that Ukraine does not possess such weapons.

"This forces us to actively negotiate with our allies to be able to receive systems with the above capabilities, as well as produce modern missiles that can intercept Russian weapons," said Mr. Syrskyi. The Ukrainian general also revealed that the country will develop its own air defense system with capabilities equivalent to the US Patriot system.
