Van Lang aspires to go far from 2 breakthroughs

From July 1, 2025, Van Lang commune was established on the basis of merging with Hoa Binh commune, with a natural area of 75.27 km2 and a population of 9,527 people. The commune Party Committee currently has 31 affiliated Party cells (19 hamlet Party cells, 12 agency and school Party cells) with 443 Party members.

After the merger, Van Lang's great advantage is that its land fund and development space are expanded, creating a basis for exploiting the potential of agriculture and forestry. The limitation is that the traffic infrastructure is not convenient, especially in the former Van Lang commune area. The Party Congress of the commune for the 2025-2030 term sets out the general goal: "Effectively use resources, focus on developing safe and organic agriculture ; develop sustainable forests...".

The Commune Party Committee set out 14 development targets, in which the average annual growth rate of product value reached 11%, and the average income per capita by 2030 reached 67 million VND, an increase of 1.5 times compared to 2025.

To achieve that goal, the commune has identified two breakthroughs. Firstly, attracting investment resources, planning stable residential areas and building transport infrastructure, creating momentum for the development of ethnic minority areas. Secondly, promoting potential and advantages to support people in changing the structure of crops and livestock, applying science and technology in agricultural and forestry production, building effective and replicable models, increasing income and reducing poverty sustainably.

Many inter-hamlet roads in Van Lang are concreted, convenient for people to trade and develop the economy.

Immediately after the Congress, the Party Committee of Van Lang commune quickly developed a plan to put the resolution into practice. Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said: With over 64% of the population being ethnic minorities, the Party Committee of the commune has issued an action program to promote the economic strengths of forests and tea trees, while reviewing and supporting poor households in terms of production materials, applying science and technology to farming and livestock raising. Regarding infrastructure, Van Lang proposed that the province invest in a rigid bridge to replace the suspension bridge on the inter-commune route and soon complete the 3km road connecting Van Lang - Quang Chu to promote economic development.

Take advantage of existing advantages

In the 2020-2025 period, before the merger, Hoa Binh commune reduced 7.7% of poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard (the resolution target is 2%); Van Lang commune reduced 15.49% (the resolution target is 5%). After the merger, the whole commune still has more than 300 poor households out of a total of 2,200 households, mainly concentrated in hamlets with a large Mong population such as Ban Ten, Lien Phuong, and Tam Va. Van Lang sets a goal of having no poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard by 2030 for the 2021-2025 period.

To achieve the set goals, the Commune Party Committee directed Party cells to disseminate and propagate the results of Party Congress resolutions at all levels to all cadres, Party members and people; at the same time, based on the resolutions and the actual situation of each Party cell, to effectively lead the implementation of goals, creating changes right from the beginning of the term.

The Party Committee also emphasized the exemplary and pioneering role of cadres and party members, especially leaders, in actively implementing and spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity through specific, practical actions suitable to local conditions.

Forest economy combined with livestock farming is becoming a sustainable development direction, helping many households in Van Lang commune escape poverty and become rich.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dai, Van Khanh hamlet, shared: Previously, his family was a poor household, supported by the State and local authorities to build a house, and participated in technical training courses on forest and tea planting. Thanks to that, his family escaped poverty, and their lives gradually stabilized. When the hamlet organized propaganda about the resolution targets set by the Commune Party Committee, the people were very confident, because the goals were suitable to reality, in line with the people's wishes and would certainly soon come into life, bringing practical results.

With the spirit of putting the resolution into life through concrete actions, Van Lang commune has built targets, assigned responsibilities, mobilized resources and deployed tasks in the direction of clear people, clear work and clear results.

Mr. Duong Van Phuc, Secretary of Van Khanh Party Cell, said: Based on the resolution of the Commune Party Committee, the Party Cell has discussed and specified tasks in accordance with the reality of the hamlet, focusing on converting crop structure, developing the economy and increasing income. Currently, the hamlet has only 1 poor household; 100% of the main roads have been concreted; the movement to protect national security has been actively responded by the people, contributing to building a peaceful and developed hamlet.

Leaving Van Lang when the afternoon sun had set, crossing the suspension bridge looking down at the red water heavy with alluvium after the upstream rain, we understood more clearly the people's desire for a solid bridge, so that traffic would be safer and agricultural products, forest products, and livestock products would no longer be forced to lower prices. That belief is even stronger when Van Lang is choosing practical solutions, promoting the spirit of solidarity, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations, determined to successfully implement the goals set out in the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
