Van Lang aspires to reach greater heights through two breakthroughs.

Entering a new phase of development with strong political determination, the Party Committee, government, and people of Van Lang commune are focusing on concretizing the Resolution of the First Party Congress of the commune, term 2025-2030. The commune has identified two key breakthroughs as the focus for building its action program, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development and improving the lives of the people.

From July 1st, 2025, Van Lang commune was established through the merger with Hoa Binh commune, with a natural area of ​​75.27 km2 and a population of 9,527 people. The commune's Party Committee currently has 31 subordinate branches (19 village branches, 12 agency and school branches) with 443 Party members.

Following the merger, Van Lang commune benefits greatly from expanded land resources and development space, creating a foundation for exploiting its potential in agriculture and forestry. A limitation is the inadequate transportation infrastructure, particularly in the former Van Lang commune area. The commune's Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term has set the overall goal: "Effectively utilize resources, focus on developing safe and organic agriculture ; develop sustainable forestry…".

The commune's Party Committee has set 14 development targets, including an average annual product value growth rate of 11%, and an average per capita income of 67 million VND by 2030, a 1.5-fold increase compared to 2025.

To achieve that goal, the commune has identified two breakthroughs. Firstly, attracting investment resources, planning stable residential areas, and building transportation infrastructure to create momentum for the development of ethnic minority areas. Secondly, leveraging potential and advantages to support people in transforming the structure of crops and livestock, applying science and technology in agricultural and forestry production, building effective models and replicating them, increasing income, and achieving sustainable poverty reduction.

Many inter-hamlet roads in Van Lang have been paved with concrete, facilitating trade and economic development for the local people.

Immediately after the Congress, the Party Committee of Van Lang commune quickly developed a plan to put the resolution into practice. According to the Secretary of the Party Committee, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy: With over 64% of the population being ethnic minorities, the commune's Party Committee has issued an action program to promote the economic strengths of forests and tea cultivation, while also reviewing and supporting poor households with production materials and introducing science and technology into farming and livestock raising. Regarding infrastructure, Van Lang has requested the province to invest in a permanent bridge to replace the suspension bridge on the inter-commune route and to soon complete the 3km road connecting Van Lang and Quang Chu to promote economic development.

Leveraging existing advantages

During the 2020-2025 period, prior to the merger, Hoa Binh commune reduced its poverty rate by 7.7% according to the multidimensional poverty standard (the resolution target was 2%); Van Lang commune reduced it by 15.49% (the resolution target was 5%). After the merger, the entire commune still has over 300 poor households out of a total of 2,200 households, mainly concentrated in hamlets with a large Mong ethnic minority population such as Ban Ten, Lien Phuong, and Tam Va. Van Lang aims to eliminate all poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard by 2030 during the 2021-2025 period.

To achieve the set goals, the Party Committee of the commune directed the Party branches to thoroughly understand and disseminate the results of the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels to all cadres, Party members, and the people; at the same time, based on the resolutions and the actual situation of each Party branch, they led the effective implementation of the goals, creating changes right from the beginning of the term.

The Party Committee also emphasized the exemplary and pioneering role of cadres and Party members, especially those in leadership positions, in actively implementing and spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity through concrete, practical actions that are appropriate to local conditions.

Forestry combined with livestock farming is becoming a sustainable development direction, helping many households in Van Lang commune escape poverty and become wealthy.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dai, from Van Khanh hamlet, shared: "Previously, my family was classified as a poor household. We received support from the State and local authorities to build a house and participate in technical training courses on forest and tea cultivation. Thanks to this, my family has escaped poverty, and our lives have gradually stabilized. When the hamlet organized the dissemination of the targets set by the commune Party Committee's resolution, the people were very confident because the goals are realistic, in line with the people's wishes, and will surely be implemented soon, bringing practical results."

With the spirit of putting the resolution into practice through concrete actions, Van Lang commune has set targets, assigned responsibilities, mobilized resources, and implemented tasks in a way that clearly defines who is responsible, what needs to be done, and what results can be achieved.

Mr. Duong Van Phuc, Secretary of the Van Khanh Party Branch, said: Based on the resolution of the commune Party Committee, the Party Branch discussed and concretized tasks suitable to the reality of the hamlet, focusing on transforming the crop structure, developing the economy and increasing income. Currently, the hamlet only has 1 poor household; 100% of the main roads have been concreted; the movement to protect national security is actively supported by the people, contributing to building a peaceful and developing hamlet.

Leaving Van Lang as the afternoon sun began to set, crossing the suspension bridge and looking down at the reddish, silt-laden water after the upstream rain, we understood even more clearly the people's longing for a sturdy bridge to ensure safer transportation and prevent their agricultural products, forest products, and livestock from being subjected to price manipulation. This belief is further strengthened as Van Lang chooses practical solutions, fosters unity, enhances leadership capacity and the fighting spirit of the grassroots Party organization, and is determined to successfully achieve the goals set forth in the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
