- After the Lunar New Year, localities throughout the province are bustling with traditional spring festivals. Through the festivals that have taken place, reporters have observed many positive changes as environmental protection is receiving more attention from all levels of government, relevant agencies, residents, and tourists, contributing to preserving a civilized, "green, clean, and beautiful" festival environment.
To ensure a clean environment at the spring festival, communes and wards are stepping up propaganda efforts to promote civilized behavior, raise awareness among residents and tourists about maintaining environmental hygiene, and improve waste collection and disposal.
According to reporters, the Lồng Tồng festival associated with the historical relic of Pác Moong communal house, Quảng Trung I block, Lương Văn Tri ward (held annually on the 5th day of the first lunar month) features many community cultural activities, creating a lively festive atmosphere and attracting thousands of tourists and locals. Despite the numerous activities, environmental hygiene is consistently maintained, with more trash bins placed than in previous years, accompanied by banners promoting "No littering - keep the festival area clean and green."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a tourist from Bac Ninh province, shared: "This is the third time I've participated in this festival. Previously, after each festival, there was a lot of trash, especially plastic bags and empty beverage bottles scattered everywhere. This year, I see that the local authorities have paid more attention to environmental sanitation. During the festival, the loudspeakers constantly reminded people to be clean, so locals and tourists are more conscious and no longer see litter scattered around."
At the Mẹt Fair in Hữu Lũng commune, activities took place over three days, from the morning of February 27th to March 1st, 2026 (corresponding to the 11th to the 13th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse). Along with other activities such as ensuring security and order, traffic safety, etc., the commune People's Committee closely and specifically directed the work of ensuring environmental hygiene.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tan, Head of the Economic Department of Huu Lung Commune, said: "The number of tourists attending this year's festival has increased significantly, bringing opportunities for tourism development to the locality, but also increasing environmental pressure. Therefore, the commune has shifted from a 'clean-up after the festival' approach to a 'prevention from the outset' approach."
Specifically, in the days before, during, and after the festival, the People's Committee of the commune coordinated with the local waste collection unit (Tam Duc Lang Son One -Member Limited Company) to survey and place approximately 100 trash bins on the central streets; and instructed workers to collect garbage twice a day (normally only once a day). At the same time, the commune directed the Party branch secretaries and village heads where the festival took place to strengthen propaganda and encourage people to voluntarily clean village roads and alleys… and dispose of waste in designated areas.
According to statistics from relevant authorities, nearly 300 festivals of varying sizes are held annually in early spring throughout the province, spread across almost all communes and wards. To date, only one-third of the festival season has been completed, and many more large festivals are expected to take place in the province, attracting a large number of locals and tourists. Mr. Dinh Trong Huy, Deputy Director of Huy Hoang Co., Ltd., stated: To ensure environmental hygiene, the company has coordinated with the People's Committees of the wards to monitor the festival schedules and identify roads within the festival areas that may generate significant amounts of waste. At festival sites, we mobilize 100% of our personnel and equipment, increasing the frequency of sweeping and garbage collection. In addition, the company maintains teams of workers (approximately 4 people per team) on duty at historical sites to continuously collect and sweep garbage. For the major festivals taking place in the coming days, we will continue to increase our workforce to ensure good environmental hygiene.
With the solutions that have been and are being implemented, we are confident that environmental sanitation at the festival venues will be ensured. This will contribute to maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful landscape, creating a positive impression on visitors.
