The temporary rest stop at Km 47+500 on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway (Dong Nai - Binh Thuan direction) is temporarily closed to passengers to allow for further construction and completion of essential items.

For several days now, drivers have been complaining that the temporary rest stop at Km 47+500 (on the left side of the route, heading from Dong Nai to Binh Thuan) on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway has unexpectedly ceased operations and stopped receiving and dropping off vehicles.

The temporary rest stop at Km 47+500 (Dong Nai - Binh Thuan direction) is temporarily closed and is expected to reopen during the April 30th holiday.

Meanwhile, at the rest stop on the opposite side (towards Phan Thiet - Dong Nai), cars were still coming and going in a steady stream.

Speaking to reporters, a representative of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Management Board stated that the drivers' complaints were accurate. The reason this temporary rest stop stopped receiving passengers was to dismantle the restaurant area (a prefabricated building) in order to continue construction and complete the connecting road and parking lot.

Currently, the temporary rest stop on the right side of the route is operating normally. At the rest stop on the left side, the contractor is continuing construction to complete the technical infrastructure items to better serve the needs according to the official scale.

Specifically for the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the investor will reopen the facility with full services to better serve commuters.

Dismantle the prefabricated restaurant area at the highway rest stop.

According to our reporter's observations, the contractor is currently rushing to complete the asphalt paving of the road surface at the two rest stops connecting to and from the expressway.

The prefabricated restaurant structure that was installed during the Lunar New Year has been dismantled at the bus stop on the left side of the route, and the area is now bustling with motorbikes and construction workers.

According to the highway management board, the contractor has so far completed the construction of restrooms, electrical and water systems, parking lots, rest areas, and access roads.

The local authorities have handed over 6.39 out of 11.47 hectares (approximately 55.7%). The remaining unhanded-over area mainly consists of rubber plantations managed by the Industrial Rubber Joint Stock Company ( thuộc Dofico Corporation).

Mr. Nguyen Cong Hop, Deputy Director of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Project Management Board, said that the Thang Long Project Management Board is currently coordinating with the local authorities to hand over the remaining rubber plantation land to the contractor for construction as soon as possible.

The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, spanning 99km, passes through the provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Thuan. Inaugurated and put into operation at the end of April 2023, this expressway has significantly reduced travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan) to approximately 2 hours, boosting socio -economic development in the localities it passes through.
