Hai Phong is a coastal city, located in the Northeast of the Red River Delta, with geographical coordinates from 20 0 30'39" - 21 0 01'15" North latitude and 106 0 23'39" - 107 0 08'39" East longitude. Regarding administrative boundaries: The North borders Quang Ninh province; the South borders Thai Binh province; the West borders Hai Duong province; the East borders the Gulf of Tonkin.
Hai Phong converges all types of transportation: sea, road, railway, inland waterway, air and has a convenient location for communication with domestic and international provinces through important transportation systems such as National Highway 5, National Highway 10, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway, Cat Bi International Airport, Hai Phong Port ..., is an important hub, the main gateway to the sea of the Northern localities, connecting international maritime traffic routes. Hai Phong is one of the largest economic centers in the country; ranked 2nd in the Northern key region and is one of the three locomotives promoting economic development of the region (along with Hanoi and Quang Ninh). In the economic cooperation initiative "Two corridors, one economic belt" between Vietnam and China, Hai Phong city is an important economic center.
