Virtual videos, real consequences.

VHO - In Vietnam, the trend of creating videos using Veo 3 has exploded, leading to negative consequences: users are breaking the rules, providing false information, buying and selling accounts illegally, and facing the risk of losing personal data.

Simultaneously, a wave of sensational, offensive, and factually distorted videos is spreading rapidly online, subtly influencing the perceptions and behaviors of young people.

The threat of personal information leakage.

In the digital age, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a powerful tool for content creators.

Recently, Veo 3 – a text-to-video creation tool developed by Google – has become a sensation online thanks to its ability to transform descriptions into videos with sharp images, smooth character movements, and the ability to create natural-looking sound effects and voiceovers.

By simply entering a few lines of description, users can create videos and then assemble them into a complete product.

With its user-friendly interface, Veo 3 quickly attracted a large number of young Vietnamese people, especially on social media platforms. However, hidden behind the convenience is the risk of personal information insecurity.

Because Google has not officially launched in Vietnam, many users have resorted to circumventing the rules, such as using VPNs, providing false information, purchasing unofficial accounts, and creating fake student accounts to receive discounts. These actions violate the terms of service and pose significant security risks.

In fact, starting June 6, 2025, a large number of Vietnamese users' Veo 3 accounts were suddenly locked due to violations. Not only did they lose access, but many also lost all the videos they had created without receiving a refund.

More seriously, paying through unknown intermediary platforms can lead to the leakage of credit card information or social media account details.

Cybersecurity experts warn that when logging into unfamiliar services using Google or Facebook accounts, users unknowingly grant third parties access to their data.

Videos that are "off-standard" are rampant.

Besides posing security risks, some videos produced using Veo 3 contain negative and inappropriate content.

Vietnamese social media is flooded with "comedy" videos created entirely using Veo 3. From MV parodies and fictional interviews to everyday jokes and animated reenactments of Vietnamese history, hashtags like #VeoAI, #videoAI, and #AIvietsub attract tens of millions of views.

Facebook is flooded with groups for buying, selling, and liquidating Veo 3 accounts.

However, behind that facade lies a plethora of "junk" videos created solely for the sake of views: from fake, sensational advertisements to obscene, offensive content or videos containing misinformation.

Many videos use cartoon characters or children's voices to utter vulgar language, and incorporate sensitive imagery into playful contexts, making it difficult for viewers to distinguish right from wrong.

Some clips even deliberately construct anti -educational scenarios, promoting deviant behavior under the guise of "entertainment".

Even more concerning, some individuals have publicly instructed how to combine Veo 3 with third-party software to superimpose faces and voices of acquaintances, thereby creating fake videos intended for attack, defamation, or ridicule.

These videos spread rapidly on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, etc., and are often met with likes and shares, with few people realizing the harm they cause.

AI tool creates realistic videos with just a few lines of code.

According to experts, frequent exposure to misleading and harmful content causes young people to gradually lose the ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood, right and wrong. Many children even imitate the way of speaking and behaving in "senseless" videos as a new form of language on social media.

Without timely guidance, these deviant videos could subtly reshape the perceptions, behaviors, and habits of an entire generation.

As an expert in the field of technology, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Director of Vietcast Co., Ltd., warns: “The danger is that many people are assuming AI is an absolutely reliable source of knowledge. When AI is widely trained from official data that is not deep enough or is limited, users still trust it without verification. Gradually, they will stop critical thinking and lose the habit of independent thought. AI can provide information, but it cannot replace human intelligence.”
