(CPV) – At 20pm on June 6, the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation had more than 6 medals on the medal table of the ASEAN Para Games 100.
Specifically, the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation won 34 gold medals, 35 silver medals and 51 bronze medals at ASEAN Para Games 12.
On June 6, the weightlifting team continued to perform impressively to bring home 6 more gold medals for the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation. Athlete Nguyen Van Hung won the gold medal in the men's 2kg weight class after successfully conquering the 72kg weight and reaching a total weight of 155kg.
Nguyen Van Hung's achievements helped the Vietnam Disabled Weightlifting Team to win 10 gold medals at the Para Games held in Cambodia. The previous 8 gold medals that the Vietnamese team had belonged to Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan, Dang Thi Linh Phuong, Le Van Cong and Nguyen Binh An.
The Athletics team also had a successful day when it brought home 3 more gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games 12. In which, Vo Van Tung excellently brought home the gold medal in the men's weightlifting event in the F34 category with a record of 7,3 meters. His teammate Truong Bich Van also finished first in the women's weightlifting event in the F56 category, with a record of 6,49 meters. In the event of the F56 javelin throw, athlete Trinh Cong Luan achieved a feat of 24,49 meters. His stats are 5 meters higher than the runner-up.
Thus, after 3 official competition days of ASEAN Para Games 12, the track and field team contributed 8 gold medals to the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation.
On the green track, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu dominated the 200m medley SM6 medley, winning gold with a time of 3:38.46.
Also on the match day 6/6, Bich Nhu's teammate brought home 5 silver medals and 3 bronze medals for the Vietnam Disabled Sports team. The athletes who won silver were Truong Quang Golf (100m backstroke class S9-SBS); Nguyen Van Tung (100m butterfly swimming class S11-SB11); Nguyen Thi Sari (200m mixed grade S5-SB4); Ho Thi Loan (200m medley S10-SB9) and the men's medley relay team (Truong Quang Golf, Nguyen Quang Vuong, Nguyen Ngoc Thiet and Vo Huynh Anh Khoa). Meanwhile, the bronze medals are thanks to the merits of Vo Huynh Anh Khoa (100m butterfly swimming class S8-SB7), Nguyen Ngoc Thiet (100m butterfly swimming class S9-SB8) and Nguyen Duc Hau (100m butterfly swimming class S13).
