The Gyokeres transfer to MU is taking a turn.

Striker Viktor Gyokeres is angry with Sporting Lisbon after the Portuguese club unexpectedly changed its stance on the player's release clause.

Gyokeres claims that Sporting prevented him from leaving.

The Swedish striker is Manchester United's top target in this summer's transfer window. Gyokeres' contract includes a €100 million release clause; however, there was an "unspoken agreement" between the striker and Sporting at the beginning of the season that he would be allowed to leave for a fee of only €60 million plus €10 million in add-ons.

However, according to Record , Sporting's management now wants to raise the price to 80 million euros, which has angered Gyokeres immensely, making him feel betrayed. In response, Gyokeres removed all contact with Sporting from his personal social media accounts.

Joining Sporting from Coventry, the 27-year-old striker scored 97 goals in 102 games – an incredible scoring record. After helping the team win the domestic double last season, Gyokeres is believed to have said goodbye to the fans.

However, the transfer deal faces many obstacles, especially Sporting's asking price. Meanwhile, MU are desperate for a true "number 9" after signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, and are in negotiations with Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford.

Manager Amorim hopes to reunite with Gyokeres to complete his preferred 3-4-2-1 attacking formation. However, this deal will be very difficult. Gyokeres himself wants to move to Old Trafford, but the problem is that the Red Devils must agree on a price with the Portuguese club.
