The story of Ms. H'Lim Ayun, an Ede woman in Trap village, overcoming poverty is a clear testament to the will, determination and spirit of overcoming difficulties of the local people.

Previously, Ms. H'Lim's family was considered poor, their livelihood mainly depended on a few acres of old, low-yielding coffee trees. Her children were still in school, making the family's financial situation even more difficult. Not resigned to poverty, she had a burning desire to change her life with her own hands.

In 2021, she received a preferential loan from policy credit programs of 116 million VND. With capital, she boldly invested in growing durian and renovating the coffee area towards intensive farming. She also actively participated in technical training courses, learned from effective business models in the region, and persistently applied them to her garden.

Thanks to proper care, the plants grew well, bringing positive signals right from the first years. By 2023, Ms. H'Lim Ayun's family officially escaped poverty, becoming one of the households with the most obvious economic changes in the village. Currently, her family has 3 hectares of coffee cultivated in a sustainable direction and more than 200 durian trees, of which 100 have been harvested. In the last crop, the durian garden yielded 6 tons, bringing in a good income, helping the family's economy stabilize and create conditions for reinvestment in production.

Ms. H'Lim shared: "When I first got the loan, I was very worried, afraid that the crops would not be profitable and the investment would fail. However, thanks to hard work, learning and persistent care, the coffee and durian gardens began to produce results, with a stable income. I hope that my family's story will encourage people in the village to boldly experiment, learn and rise out of poverty."

Ms. H'Lim's story is a vivid testament to the effectiveness of poverty reduction policies associated with people's self-reliance.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Tam Giang Commune, Ms. H'Lim Ayun's family is a typical example of the locality in escaping poverty thanks to making good use of preferential loans and applying farming techniques. Currently, the commune is synchronously implementing capital support programs, technical guidance and vocational training to help people improve production capacity and develop the economy. "We will also focus on replicating effective models, supporting market connections and product consumption, to help poor and near-poor households gradually stabilize their lives and develop sustainably," Mr. Tuan added.
