Overcoming difficulties and striving to change one's life.

Over the years, the economic development emulation movement in Ea Tam commune has produced many good models and effective methods.

The story of H'Lim Ayun, an Ede ethnic woman from Trap village, rising out of poverty is a clear testament to the willpower, determination, and resilience of the local people.

Previously, H'Lim's family was classified as a poor household, their livelihood mainly depending on a few plots of old, low-yielding coffee plants. With her children of school age, the family's finances became even more strained. Unwilling to accept poverty, she harbored a burning desire to change her life through her own hard work.

Ms. H'Lim Ayun is harvesting coffee.

In 2021, she received a preferential loan of 116 million VND from policy credit programs. With this capital, she boldly invested in planting durian trees and renovating her coffee plantation using intensive farming methods. She also actively participated in technical training courses, learned from successful business models in the region, and persistently applied the knowledge to her own orchard.

Thanks to proper care, the crops thrived, showing promising results from the very first years. By 2023, H'Lim Ayun's family officially escaped poverty, becoming one of the households with the most significant economic transformation in the village. Currently, her family owns 3 hectares of sustainably cultivated coffee and over 200 durian trees, 100 of which are already producing fruit. In the last harvest, the durian orchard yielded 6 tons, bringing in a considerable income, stabilizing the family's economy, and providing the conditions for reinvestment in production.

Ms. H'Lim shared: "When I first received the loan, I was very worried, afraid that the crops wouldn't be profitable and the investment would fail. However, thanks to diligently learning and persistently caring for the plants, the coffee and durian orchards have started to yield results, providing a stable income. I hope my family's story will encourage people in the village to boldly experiment, learn, and rise out of poverty."

H'Lim's story is a vivid testament to the effectiveness of poverty reduction policies coupled with the self-reliance of the people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Tam Giang commune, Ms. H'Lim Ayun's family is a prime example in the locality of overcoming poverty by effectively utilizing preferential loan capital and applying advanced farming techniques. Currently, the commune is implementing comprehensive programs to support capital, provide technical guidance, and offer vocational training to help ethnic minorities improve their production capacity and develop their economy. "We will also focus on replicating effective models, supporting market connections and product consumption, aiming to help poor and near-poor households gradually stabilize their lives and achieve sustainable development," Mr. Tuan added.
