On March 26th, the People's Committee of Phu Dong commune organized a conference of people's representatives to discuss the development of cultural life at the grassroots level in 2026.
According to the report, immediately after the two-tiered local government model came into operation, the People's Committee of the commune developed and implemented a plan to carry out the "All people unite to build a cultured life" movement for the last six months of 2025.
The People's Committee of the commune has directed the renewal of the content and methods of operation towards practicality, effectiveness, close adherence to reality, and a focus on key areas linked to the construction of new rural areas, model new rural areas, and the implementation of a civilized urban lifestyle.
The commune's Steering Committee for the movement has issued documents and guidelines to villages on organizing and implementing the evaluation of cultural titles according to prescribed criteria and procedures; coordinating with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune to direct, supervise, monitor, and attend the People's Representatives Conference to discuss the building of grassroots cultural life in the villages.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and political and social organizations have coordinated well in disseminating information and mobilizing cadres, union members, association members, and all strata of the people to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, and programs and plans of the commune such as: the "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" campaign; the "Building families with 5 no's and 3 clean's" movement associated with the "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe alleys and streets" movement; and the "3 clean Sunday: Clean house - clean alley - clean public places" movement, all of which have made a clear impact.
Thanks to effective propaganda and mobilization efforts, the movement to build cultural titles has achieved many positive changes. Specifically, in 2025, the number of households achieving the title of "Cultural Family" in the area reached 96% (exceeding the city's target by 8%). The entire commune has 56 out of 56 villages achieving the title of "Cultural Village," reaching a rate of 100% (exceeding the city's target by 35%).
Simultaneously, the implementation of civilized practices in weddings, funerals, and festivals has also yielded many positive results. 100% of registered weddings comply with regulations. The cremation rate in Phu Dong commune is approximately 81%.
Furthermore, all 25 traditional festivals in the commune were organized seriously and solemnly in the ceremonial part, and joyfully, effectively, and economically in the celebratory part, attracting a large number of local people and tourists from all over to participate.
The work of building a civilized urban lifestyle has been implemented effectively. The maintenance of model streets and mural-decorated sections is ensured to be green, clean, and beautiful; illegal advertising is removed to ensure urban aesthetics, contributing to the building and preservation of "bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe communes and wards."
According to the Action Program for Building Cultural Life at the Grassroots Level in 2026, Phu Dong commune aims for over 90% of households to be recognized and maintain the title of "Culturally Advanced Family"; the percentage of villages recognized and maintaining the title of "Culturally Advanced Village" to reach 90%; maintaining a poverty-free commune; striving for 100% of households to have members participating in village Zalo groups; and over 85% of people's opinions, suggestions, and feedback to be addressed through digital platforms.
To achieve the goal, the leaders of Phu Dong commune said that the locality will continue to promote the movement to build "Cultural Families," "Cultural Villages," and "Exemplary Communes"; and implement the "Code of Conduct in the Family" to contribute to improving the values, moral standards, cultural conduct, and relationships of family members in the era of industrialization and modernization...
