At approximately 2:45 PM on June 28th, a sleeper bus with license plate 23B (driver's identity unknown) was traveling on the North-South Expressway in the direction of Hanoi - Thanh Hoa. When the bus reached kilometer 338+700, in the area of Trung Chinh commune, it suddenly malfunctioned and caught fire.

The driver steered the vehicle to the side of the road, quickly told passengers to evacuate, and reported the incident to the authorities. Within minutes, the fire intensified, with smoke and flames rising dozens of meters into the air.
Upon receiving the report, the Traffic Police Department and the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police of Thanh Hoa Province dispatched officers and specialized equipment to the scene to carry out firefighting operations and simultaneously manage traffic flow, ensuring the safety of vehicles passing through the area.

Approximately 30 minutes later, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. At the scene, the passenger bus was severely damaged. There were many passengers on board at the time of the fire, but fortunately, they all managed to leave the bus safely, so there were no casualties.
Currently, the cause of the fire is being investigated by the local police.
