Truck carrying plums catches fire on highway.

VHO - While traveling on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway, a truck carrying approximately 10 tons of plums suddenly burst into flames.

On the morning of June 8th, a truck carrying approximately 10 tons of plums suddenly caught fire while traveling on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot highway, in the section passing through Ha Tinh province.

According to initial information, at around 9:00 AM, a truck with license plate 50H-264.xx, driven by Mr. Nguyen Hoang M. (born in 1994, residing in Vinh Long province), was traveling in the North-South direction on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway.

Upon reaching Km479+200, near the highway toll station in Duc Quang commune, Ha Tinh province, the driver noticed smoke and flames rising from the cargo area at the rear of the vehicle. Immediately, he steered the vehicle into the emergency lane next to the guardrail and reported the incident to the authorities.

Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ha Tinh province mobilized officers and soldiers along with two specialized fire trucks to the scene to carry out firefighting operations.

The fire did not cause any casualties. However, approximately 10 tons of plums and other goods on the truck were burned and damaged. The incident also caused traffic congestion and long queues while authorities dealt with the scene.
