Hoa Phat signs contract to supply 1,000 Container shells to VIMC Lines
The shipment aims to support VIMC Lines in expanding its fleet, targeting the goal of becoming Vietnam’s leading container transport enterprise.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Doan Quang Thinh – Director of Hoa Phat’s container division, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Trang – CEO of VIMC Lines, and representatives from both companies.
According to the agreement, Hoa Phat will manufacture and deliver 1,000 containers, including 500 units of 20-foot DC and 500 units of 40-foot HC. The delivery is expected to begin in June 2025 to meet VIMC Lines’ peak operating demands.
The ceremony was held in a solemn and professional atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of strategic cooperation and mutual growth between two leading enterprises in the maritime supply chain.
At the event, a representative of VIMC Lines emphasized: “The simultaneous investment in 1,000 new container shells reflects our strong commitment to enhancing operational capacity and improving supply chain efficiency. It is also a necessary move to ensure reliable and stable services for both domestic and international customers. This partnership with Hoa Phat demonstrates our strategy of selecting long-term partners to grow together for mutual benefit.”
Mr. Doan Quang Thinh from Hoa Phat shared: “With a modern production system, strict quality control processes, and self-sufficient raw material supply, we are confident in delivering internationally standardized products on schedule and tailored to actual operational needs. Hoa Phat is ready to accompany VIMC Lines in its long-term development strategy and contribute to the growth of Vietnam’s logistics sector.”
In 2025, domestic partners continue to expand orders with Hoa Phat, ensuring stable production. Labor productivity at the factory has doubled compared to the previous year. The Hoa Phat container factory is currently exceeding its production targets, thanks to skilled workers and a rigorous quality control system.
Hoa Phat’s container production facility has a total capacity of 500,000 TEUs per year, focusing on the production of common 20–40-foot containers. Phase 1 has a capacity of 200,000 TEUs annually. With this scale, Hoa Phat is the largest container manufacturer in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Hoa Phat’s key advantage lies in its self-sufficient supply of SPA-H grade weather-resistant hot-rolled coil (HRC) steel, produced at the Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex. The company aims to localize 90–95% of input materials by the end of 2025, thereby reducing costs and ensuring production stability.
In parallel, R&D efforts have been strengthened to optimize container components and align with global trends. Domestic raw material autonomy not only reduces costs but also improves competitiveness and supports sustainable production.
This contract further affirms Hoa Phat’s role in Vietnam’s high-quality container supply chain and reflects increasing trust from major transport companies both domestically and internationally. It also marks another step forward in Hoa Phat’s logistics market expansion strategy, aiming for sustainable development and enhanced competitiveness.
Both sides expect the partnership to expand in the near future, built on a foundation of shared growth and effective exploitation of the maritime transport sector’s potential.
