Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung presented the Certificate of Commendation from the Ministry of Information and Communications to VTC Television for its outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of the information and communications industry.

Promoting the application of new television technologies and fostering competition are VTC's contributions.

In his congratulatory remarks to VTC Television, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the station's contributions to the field of Vietnamese television.

According to the Minister, when discussing Vietnam's television sector, it's impossible not to mention VTC Digital Television. VTC not only promotes the application of new television technologies but also fosters competition in the field. When talking about VTC, it's impossible not to mention the Vietnam Multimedia Communications Corporation (VTC); and when talking about VTC, one must mention the courage and aspiration for innovation of the late General Director Thai Minh Tan, who led VTC to separate from Vietnam Television and pursue its own path in digital technology .

The Minister stated that while all television broadcasters at the time still considered analog technology their "comfort zone," VTC was eager to develop terrestrial digital technology. That aspiration, combined with the foresight of the then head of the Post and Telecommunications sector, Minister Do Trung Ta, led to the creation of "VTC Digital Television Station."

The Minister pointed out that thanks to the determination of generations of leaders in the postal and telecommunications sector to move straight towards digital technology since the 1990s, Vietnam's telecommunications sector has achieved its current position and potential. It is also thanks to this vision that the Vietnamese television sector has a pioneering unit that chose digital technology as the basis for its establishment and development. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that this breakthrough by VTC is the basis for the Prime Minister's approval of the "Digitalization of Terrestrial Television Transmission and Broadcasting by 2020" project, to modernize Vietnamese television.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung delivered a congratulatory speech to VTC Television Station.

VTC should inherit the past and write a new chapter for its generation, a new chapter in the history of VTC Television.

Sharing his thoughts on VTC's 10-year journey and its ups and downs, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated that the first 10 years were a period of startup for VTC. During these initial 10 years, VTC developed rapidly, becoming a driving force in the development of digital television in Vietnam. From there, VTC rose to the top ranks of television stations. Ten years later, after separating from the VTC Corporation, despite facing many difficulties, it overcame them and continued to be a major television station in the country. This was a remarkable achievement.

The Minister expressed his hope that, in the next 10 years, VTC employees would create a new chapter, building on the past and developing the future. He urged VTC employees to "Start with a big dream, a great mission, and you will always have the energy and guidance of Heaven and Earth."

VTC was born during the first wave of reforms in the telecommunications and information technology sector. So, let VTC be reborn during the second wave of reforms in the telecommunications and information technology sector.

Delegates pressed the button to begin a new journey for VTC Television.

According to the Minister, the first wave of innovation was telecommunications infrastructure. The second wave is digital infrastructure. The first wave was broadcast television infrastructure. The second wave is on-demand television infrastructure. The first wave was technical digitalization, a technological transition from analog to digital. The second wave is comprehensive digitalization, a transformation of working methods. The first wave was information and ICT. The second wave is data and AI. The first wave was software for one's own work. The second wave is a platform for others to do the same work. In the first wave, people basically still lived and worked in the real world. In the second wave, people basically lived and worked in the digital world. In the first wave, technology was important. In the second wave, a change in mindset was important.

The Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Information and Communications has confidence in the future of VTC Digital Television, confidence in the leadership of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) over VTC, confidence in VTC's tradition of innovation, and confidence in VTC's staff.

The Ministry of Information and Communications is always the first place VTC Television Station turns to for issues related to state management of radio and television broadcasting. The Ministry of Information and Communications will resolve difficulties and obstacles, as well as provide directions and policy mechanisms for the development of VTC Television Station.

Established on August 19, 2004, with 50 staff members and reporters, the VTC Digital Television Editorial Board is located within the VTC Multimedia Communications Corporation to apply and test digital technology in television broadcasting.

Over the past 20 years, the broadcasts of VTC Digital Television (VTC) have become familiar to millions of viewers.

VTC has become a brand, a cultural icon, and a source of trust and pride for the Vietnamese people as a national-level television station.

VTC will continue its pioneering mission to expand the reach of digital television by rapidly adopting modern television technology.

Based on the national plan for the management and development of the press until 2025, on June 2, 2015, the Prime Minister signed a decision transferring VTC Digital Television from the Ministry of Information and Communications to the direct control of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV). This is an important milestone in the history of VTC Television as it officially becomes a member of the nation's leading press agency.

Within the VOV umbrella, VTC Television continues to develop steadily, maintaining its position and role as a major national television station , fulfilling the task of disseminating the Party and State's policies and guidelines, while continuing to exert an increasingly profound and widespread influence on viewers.
