On June 10th, the Civil Defense Command of Pac Ta commune ( Lai Chau province) reported that a landslide occurred on the afternoon of June 9th in the ravine area of Mit Thai village.
At the time of the incident, several people were working at the foot of the ravine when rocks and soil from the mountainside collapsed, sweeping them away and burying them.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Civil Defense Command of Pac Ta commune reported to the local Party committee and government, and mobilized the police, military , local security forces, and people of Mit Thai village to organize search and rescue operations.
To reach the scene, the authorities traveled approximately 5km by motorbike to the village's local road, then walked another 3km through steep, hilly terrain, posing a risk of further landslides.
At approximately 3 PM that same day, rescue forces discovered three male bodies that had been swept down a ravine by landslides.
The victims have been identified as LVT (25 years old), HVD (28 years old), both residing in Mit Thai village, and VAT (24 years old), residing in Mit Noi village, Pac Ta commune.

After the rescue operation was completed, the bodies of the victims were handed over to their families for burial. Local authorities organized visits to offer condolences, encouragement, and support to the victims' families.
The heavy rains in recent days have also caused damage in many areas of Lai Chau province. According to initial statistics, 15 households were flooded and had to relocate their belongings; dozens of hectares of rice paddies, crops, and fish ponds were swept away or buried.
Many provincial roads, such as 132B, 135, 129, 138, and 138C, have experienced landslides, causing traffic congestion. In addition, 9 irrigation works have been damaged by the floods.
Local authorities are reviewing high-risk areas, posting warning signs, mobilizing on-site forces to assist people in relocating their belongings, clearing waterways, and mitigating the consequences of natural disasters.
