(Dan Tri Newspaper) - 5,000 servings of "giant" tuna will be given away for free at the "Delicious Dishes from the Basalt Land and the Sea" food festival in Gia Lai province.

On the afternoon of August 29th, the opening ceremony of the "Delicious Dishes from the Basalt Land and the Sea" food festival took place at the Children's Park on An Duong Vuong Street, Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province. The festival will last until September 1st with many exciting activities.

At the festival, locals and tourists can witness domestic and international chefs demonstrating how to fillet and prepare tuna into creative, nutritious, and unique dishes.

The dishes are prepared using tuna as the main ingredient, combined with food and ingredients from the basalt plateau region, such as grilled tuna with European flavors; tomato sauce served with giant bread (6 meters long); fish porridge with macadamia nuts from the basalt plateau; spicy Thai curry; tuna pancakes, etc.

Notably, the festival features 5,000 free meals made from ocean tuna served to locals and tourists.

Participating in the festival as a media ambassador for the "Essence of the Great Forests and the Sea" Quy Nhon - Gia Lai 2025 festival, Miss Tourism Ambassador Vietnam 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa was captivated by the demonstration of tuna filleting by local chefs in collaboration with Japanese chefs.

“I was very honored to witness the chefs demonstrating the preparation of fresh tuna fillets and to enjoy the delicious tuna sashimi with mustard sauce. Along with that, I also had the opportunity to savor many delicious dishes from the Central Highlands,” shared Miss Dinh Thi Hoa.

According to the organizers, the "Delicious Dishes from the Basalt Land and the Sea" food festival also features OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, traditional craft villages, and the Gia Lai province's coffee and gong culture festival. With nearly 94 booths and 33 participating units, the festival brings together restaurants from within and outside the province, offering a variety of experiences for visitors.

In addition, Gia Lai province also organizes other activities such as street festivals and traditional art forms of the province including hat boi (classical opera), bai choi (folk singing), traditional martial arts performances, gong and traditional musical instrument performances.

Aspiration for the Blue Sea - The Great Forest Shines Brightly

On the evening of the same day, the "Festival of the Great Forest and the Blue Sea 2025" with the theme "Aspiration for the Blue Sea - The Great Forest Shines" took place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, organized by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to celebrate the province's merger from the former Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces on July 1st.

The opening art program was staged to combine the distinctive features of the East and West regions of Gia Lai province: historical traditions, cultural identity, potential strengths for economic development, historical relics, tourist landscapes, products of the basalt land and the sea, along with the message "Promoting the strength of unity - preserving identity - moving forward into the future".

In addition, Gia Lai province also organizes other activities such as street festivals, traditional art forms of the province including hat boi (classical opera), bai choi (folk singing), traditional martial arts performances, gong and traditional musical instrument performances.

In particular, the light festival and drone art performance, along with a music party for young people themed "The Great Forest - The Blue Sea Reaching for Brilliance," will take place at 8:30 PM on September 1st at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon Ward.
