As of August 12th, at least 29 localities nationwide have approved tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year, ranging from 8 to over 340 VND per month.
Below is a list of provinces and cities that have announced tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year (for primary school, 5-year-old children are exempt according to the Education Law and Decree 81 of 2021):

Most localities divide tuition fees by educational level and three regions: urban, rural, and mountainous. Dak Nong has the lowest tuition fees: preschool from 8 to 30 VND/month; secondary and high school from 10 to 45 VND/month.
Bac Giang currently has the highest tuition fees, reaching 340,000 VND/month. Next is Binh Thuan, with the highest fee at 240,000 VND/month. Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang both have the highest fees at 220,000 VND/month, while Kien Giang is slightly lower at around 195,000 VND/month.
According to announcements from local authorities, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Long An, Hai Phong, and Vinh Phuc are the six localities that have finalized plans to waive or reduce tuition fees for students at all levels in the 2024-2025 school year.
In addition to the provinces mentioned above, according to the Ministry of Education and Training, from the 2024-2025 school year, 5-year-old preschool children will be exempt from tuition fees (effective from September 1, 2024). Previously, the group eligible for support included 5-year-old preschool children in particularly disadvantaged villages/hamlets, communes in Zone III of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and particularly disadvantaged communes in coastal and island areas as defined by competent authorities.
