The campaign to create, stage, and promote literary and artistic works commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) has received enthusiastic support from artists and writers in Ho Chi Minh City. On December 30th, the awards ceremony will be held solemnly at the City Theater.
Efforts to foster new creativity
The campaign to create, stage, and promote literary and artistic works commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, launched in July 2023, has reached its final stage, preparing for the announcement, awarding of prizes, and honoring of outstanding authors.
People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, said that after more than a year since its launch, the campaign has received 630 works from 434 authors across the country. This is a positive sign, creating a flourishing cultural and artistic scene in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Arts Council, the authors participating in the campaign include big names in the fields of literature and art, as well as amateur authors from across the country; practically contributing to nurturing new creations for the culture and art of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general.
"With deep affection for Ho Chi Minh City, the authors and groups of authors have brought to the campaign many works of high ideological and artistic value; diverse and rich in form and content, especially works that closely adhere to the theme, expressing a strong aspiration for Ho Chi Minh City to reach new heights in the future, while preserving the city's identity with many distinctive cultural features," - Associate Professor Dr. Tran Yen Chi, member of the Art Council, informed.
Enhance promotion
Starting in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports will take the lead in coordinating with relevant agencies and units to organize activities for staging, publicizing, and promoting the winning works of the competition, contributing to spreading the value of these works to the public.
Meritorious Artist Le Thien happily stated: "The campaign is a 'bank' of creative works full of humanistic values. From the creative resources of many fields, art organizations both public and private will be able to expand the effectiveness by bringing these works closer to the public."
Writer Bich Ngan, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, said that in the near future, specialized associations will strengthen coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to promote and introduce award-winning works and honor authors who have shown interest in creativity, actively participated in the campaign, and created valuable literary and artistic works.
Associate Professor Tran Luan Kim, Chairman of the Council of Theoretical and Critical Studies of the Union of Arts and Literature Associations of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: "Promoting the role of literature and art in nurturing and building the morality of Vietnamese people today is not only the responsibility of artists and writers as creative subjects, but also the responsibility of all those working in culture, literature, and art."
