According to the independent box office statistics website Box Office Vietnam, as of 7:30 PM on August 28th, the film had grossed over 204 billion VND.
In particular, on August 28th alone, the film still held the number one position on the box office revenue chart with nearly 23 billion VND, selling almost 280,000 tickets and having a very high number of screenings at 4,795.

With its sky-high box office revenue on August 28th, "Red Rain" has now far surpassed the revenue of another Vietnamese film also having early screenings, " Making Money with Ghosts: The Diamond War ." Director Trung Lun's film has currently grossed over 2.7 billion VND.
With the impressive achievements mentioned above, Red Rain currently ranks 11th on the list of highest-grossing Vietnamese films of all time. The four films ranked above Red Rain are all scheduled for release in 2025: Detective Kien: The Headless Case (249 billion VND), Ancestral House (243 billion VND), Face Off 8: Sunny Embrace (232 billion VND), and The Billion-Dollar Kiss (212 billion VND).
With its current growth momentum, coupled with the buzz, word-of-mouth on social media, and the upcoming September 2nd holiday, Red Rain has the potential to surpass the 300 billion VND revenue mark.

Recently, representatives from the distributor Galaxy also revealed that the film will feature special actors – former war veterans.
In a scene set in Dr. Le's (Hua Wei Wen) operating room, wounded soldiers lie crammed together, groans echoing throughout the increasingly crowded, suffocating space. On a hospital bed, a soldier whose legs have been completely amputated lies silently; the fleeting glimpse of the brutality of war quickly imprints itself on the audience's minds, leaving them speechless.
Many thought the film crew of "Red Rain" had used makeup or special effects, but the truth was even more shocking to the audience. The soldier lying in the hospital bed was actually a real war veteran from the Quang Tri battlefield years ago.
Many wounded soldiers with various injuries were present on the set of "Red Rain" to help the film crew shoot these heartbreaking and realistic scenes. Returning to the scene from years ago, they once again dedicated themselves to the country, contributing their own disabled bodies to a work that ignites patriotism in future generations.

Director Dang Thai Huyen emotionally shared: “The veteran soldiers always arrived at the film set very early, some even using homemade three-wheeled vehicles. During the filming of 'Red Rain ,' the weather in Quang Tri was bitterly cold, but the veterans didn't mind the difficulties and lay still while we applied makeup in their very thin summer soldier uniforms, and then filmed for quite a long time.”
"In such cold weather, the old wounds must be aching. We truly admire the spirit of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army, and our hearts are always filled with gratitude to those who were willing to join us in reviving a chapter of our nation's history."
Producer Kieu Thanh Thuy also shared the reason for inviting veterans to participate in the filming: “We believe we must try our best to get the most authentic footage. Therefore, the film crew came up with the bold idea of inviting real war veterans to assist in the filming. And fortunately, they helped us very enthusiastically.”
This wasn't just a chance for the actors to participate in the film; it was also an opportunity for the young cast of "Red Rain" to meet real people, helping them to better understand the characters and ideals of those who defended the ancient citadel back then.
It is known that during the production process, the film crew received close attention and guidance from the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , the Chief of the General Political Department, the General Staff, and the coordination and support of agencies and units inside and outside the military and Quang Tri province.
Red Rain is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
