Having gone through 70 springs (1954-2024) with the ups and downs of the province's and country's history, the Party Committee of Quang Tam Ward (Thanh Hoa City) has always brought "warm rays of sunshine" of renewal and development. This is also the driving force for cadres, Party members, and the people to continue striving in labor and production, developing the economy to enrich their homeland, and upholding the revolutionary traditions passed down through generations.

Homeland of Heroes
Continuing the heroic and resilient tradition of previous generations, under the leadership of the Party, the people of Quang Tam actively responded to revolutionary movements, joining the whole country in driving out the Japanese fascists, overthrowing the monarchy, and establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945). During the resistance war against French colonialism (1945–1954), that spirit became even stronger and more resolute under the direct leadership of the Tran Phu Party Branch – the predecessor organization of the Quang Cat, Quang Minh, and Quang Tam Party Committees today.
To meet the demands of the revolution in the new situation, on April 5, 1954, Quang Tam commune was established by dividing the larger Quang Cat commune into three communes (Quang Minh, Quang Cat, and Quang Tam). Along with this change, the Quang Tam Party Branch was also established, marking a historical milestone in the tradition of the Quang Tam ward Party Committee today.
Responding to President Ho Chi Minh 's call for "National Resistance," during the nine years of resistance against French colonialism, the people of Quang Tam donated 108 taels of gold, 1,275 bowls and plates, 107 bamboo hats; 800 kg of rice, 427 resistance bonds; contributed 5,672 tons of food and 22.3 tons of provisions to support the resistance; at that time, 171 people joined the army, 39 volunteer youth, hundreds joined the militia and guerrilla forces, and 3,200 civilian laborers served in the campaigns, among whom 9 sons sacrificed their lives, and many others left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield.
Entering the period of resistance against the American imperialists, with the spirit of resolute resistance and determination to overcome all hardships, and with the resolve of "Not a single grain of rice will be lacking, not a single soldier will be lacking," the Party Committee and people of Quang Tam made worthy contributions to the cause of liberating the South and unifying the country (April 30, 1975). In 10 years (1965–1975), Quang Tam sent 786 young people to fight to defend the Fatherland, 293 people participated in the civilian labor force supporting the front lines, 85 people participated in transporting supplies to the battlefield by small boats, 12 families sacrificed their homes to build fortifications and pave roads for artillery support, and 79 sons and daughters sacrificed their lives on the battlefield for the independence and freedom of the nation...
With these achievements, the Party Committee and people of Quang Tam ward have been honored by the Party and State with many prestigious titles for the collective and individuals. Notable examples include: the Third-Class Labor Medal in 2003 for Quang Tam Primary School; a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2015; and from 1994 to the present, 10 mothers have been awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother. Particularly, on February 27, 2002, the local people and armed forces were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President; and the title of "Unit of Decisive Victory" by the Commander of Military Region 4 in 2013.
Break through and rise
Having gone through those two fierce wars, the Party Committee of Quang Tam ward, with a determined spirit, successfully carried out and completed all tasks assigned by the higher authorities, continuing to lead the people into the period of building and defending the socialist Fatherland. Despite countless challenges and hardships, under the guidance of the National Party Congress Resolution and the leadership of the Quang Xuong District Party Committee, followed by the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, the Quang Tam ward Party Committee has formulated many correct policies and solutions, gradually perfecting the new management mechanism, leading Quang Tam to progress in the period of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
Quang Tam Primary School has been recognized as meeting Level 2 standards.
Thanks to this, by 2023, Quang Tam ward had undergone significant and comprehensive changes in all areas. The total value of production in the ward reached 971.85 billion VND; the average annual growth rate was over 12% (of which, the value of agricultural production was 16.521 billion VND, accounting for 1.7%; basic construction reached 377.077 billion VND, accounting for 38.8%; trade and services reached 578.25 billion VND, accounting for 59.9%); average per capita income reached 95 million VND/year; the number of wealthy households increased, and the percentage of poor households gradually decreased (only 7 households remaining). Industries, services, trade, and production were given attention and developed, contributing to attracting capital, creating jobs, and increasing income for workers. The ward currently has 825 small and medium-sized individual businesses, 218 companies, over 30 construction teams, and 1,300 workers with stable jobs in companies and factories, earning an income of 7-9 million VND per person per month.
Significant progress has been made in the fields of education, culture, and sports. Currently, all three levels of education in the ward have achieved national standards at level 2. The level of public awareness and democratic participation in neighborhoods is constantly improving. Cultural and artistic activities, as well as sports, are developing widely, contributing to the ward achieving cultural standards in 2023... Land management, construction order, urban order, traffic safety, and environmental sanitation have been strengthened. The entire ward has established 7 neighborhood groups focused on fire prevention and control and 4 public fire stations. Focus has been placed on disseminating information and guiding people to install and use the VneID application; coordination has been effective in entering national population data, with a total of 2,036 applications received to date, including 701 online and 1,335 in person and by post. The military conscription examination process has consistently met the assigned targets, and national defense and security in the ward have been maintained and ensured for many years.
Over the past 70 years, the Party Committee of Quang Tam Ward has grown from 29 members to 436 members, organized into 13 branches. Overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges, the Party Committee has always remained united and consistently recognized as a "clean and strong Party Committee." This is a beacon of aspiration and faith guiding the people towards an increasingly prosperous and happy life, like the fragrance of spring always bearing sweet flowers and fruits.
