On the afternoon of June 5th, in an interview with VTC News, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of the Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, stated that during the 2023-2024 10th grade entrance exam, nine candidates required assistance from invigilators. Of these, eight had broken arms, and one was a hearing-impaired candidate who was provided with a hearing aid.
These candidates requiring special assistance are from examination centers in Hoc Mon district, Districts 3, 10, 12, Go Vap, Thu Duc City, Cu Chi district, and Binh Chanh district.
"According to the exam regulations, all candidates with broken arms will take the exam in a separate room, with an invigilator writing on their behalf. Each separate exam room is equipped with a camera for audio and video recording to monitor the process," Mr. Minh said.

According to Mr. Pham Duc Lap, Deputy Head of the examination center at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, Nguyen Van Thanh, a student from Le Loi Secondary School in District 3, suffered a broken right arm at this examination center.
According to Mr. Lap, the examination site has more than 100 officials, teachers, staff, and police officers from District 3 on duty.
"This afternoon, the examination center will receive specialized support equipment from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to assist candidates in taking the exam tomorrow, " Mr. Lap said.

On the morning of June 5th, approximately 96,000 ninth-grade students in Ho Chi Minh City arrived at examination centers to complete the necessary procedures in preparation for the 2023 entrance exam for public high schools. The official exam days will be June 6th and 7th.
According to a preliminary report, 461 candidates were absent citywide. These candidates can still participate in the 10th grade entrance exam as normal, and their absence from the exam regulations briefing will not affect their performance.
The entrance exam for 10th grade in Ho Chi Minh City has 158 testing locations, including 147 regular testing locations and 11 specialized testing locations.
Each room accommodates 24 candidates, and each examination center will have 3 additional reserve examination rooms.
Ho Chi Minh City has mobilized 12,306 teachers to serve as invigilators and 2,370 staff members, security guards, police officers, etc., to work at the examination sites.
The total number of 9th-grade students taking the junior high school graduation exam this year is 113,802. Of these, 96,325 candidates registered to take the entrance exam for public 10th-grade classes. Specifically, 88,237 candidates registered for only three regular preferences; 1,147 candidates registered for integrated preferences; and 6,941 candidates registered for specialized preferences (including 236 candidates from other provinces who registered to take the exam in Ho Chi Minh City).
