According to a decision from the AFC Disciplinary Committee, PSSI was fined a total of $14,000 for failing to comply with regulations on spectator control, stadium security, and competition area management. This is considered one of the harshest penalties in the league's history.
During the Indonesia vs. South Korea match on January 27th, a member without a valid press pass entered the technical area and surrounding areas of the pitch. This behavior resulted in a $3,000 fine for the PSSI (Indonesian Football Association) under Article 21.2 of the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup Regulations.
The AFC imposed an additional $3,000 fine for spectators storming onto the pitch after the match ended, indicating inadequate security control. More seriously, the failure to maintain order when spectators trespassed onto the pitch resulted in PSSI receiving an additional $5,000 fine under Article 64.1 of the AFC Code of Discipline and Ethics.
At the Iran vs. Afghanistan match on February 1st, the organizers again allowed five spectators to enter the stadium without permission, resulting in an additional $3,000 fine for PSSI.
The AFC demanded that the full amount of the fine be paid within 30 days of the decision, while emphasizing that Indonesia needs to quickly tighten its organizational procedures if it does not want to face harsher disciplinary measures in the future.
In this year's tournament, Indonesian futsal played well and advanced straight to the final. They played evenly and repeatedly took the lead against the giant Iran in the final match. However, Iran showed their resilience by leveling the score at 5-5 before winning 4-3 on penalties.
