Digital transformation is no longer a distant dream for the ethnic minority communities in the remote areas of Thai Nguyen province. The presence of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought many advantages to people's lives. By knowing how to utilize AI as a tool, the villages in the highlands and remote areas of the province have more opportunities for development.

AI helps all citizens worldwide to communicate with each other through applications. Simply by knowing the nationality and language spoken by tourists, Vietnamese speakers, or typing a specific command, the AI ​​can translate it into the desired language in half a second, such as English, French, Chinese, Korean, Lao, etc. With the support of AI, people from different countries can exchange information in a friendly manner.

Therefore, AI is being applied by many people in villages and hamlets in various fields. Regarding AI, Mr. Hoang Van Si, Head of Phu Tho hamlet, Vo Tranh commune, said: "Through AI, we can learn more about tea production and processing techniques. Women have learned how to prepare dishes from all over the world ..."

In Thai Nguyen province, artificial intelligence technology is no longer unfamiliar to the general public, as many AI training courses have been organized since 2024. Furthermore, AI is not difficult to use, and those who know how to use it can guide those who don't. Learning and using AI has spread widely in communities, especially among young people.

In rural areas, many children use AI to assist in their learning, from constructing essays and explaining mathematical and physics terminology to practicing foreign languages. Many children from ethnic minority groups also use AI to improve their Vietnamese pronunciation.

Many farmers use AI to predict the next day's weather in order to plan their planting, and then consult AI for advice on how to increase crop yields, and how to detect and eliminate specific pests and diseases affecting their crops.

Sharing his experience with us, Mr. Chu Van Quan, a Nung ethnic minority resident of Cuong Lang hamlet, Tan Cuong commune, said: "Through AI, I learned about many effective economic models. Then, thanks to AI, I was able to build a successful family farm economic model."

Preserving, restoring, conserving, and promoting the cultural values ​​of ethnic minority groups has become easier with the effective support of AI. For example, AI assists in recording, analyzing, and classifying the Then melodies and Tinh lute playing of the Tay people, the Sli songs of the Nung people, the Khen melodies of the Mong people, the Pao Dung songs of the Dao people, and the Soong Co songs of the San Diu people... with great accuracy in melody, rhythm, structure, and nuances.

Many young women from the Dao and Hmong ethnic groups have learned to use AI to reference and recreate ancient patterns and replicate the original colors on their traditional ethnic costumes.

In essence, AI is contributing to the rapid transformation of the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minority communities. It demonstrates the determination and dynamism of these communities as they confidently enter the digital age while preserving their traditional lifestyles, customs, and age-old cultural values. And AI has become, and continues to be, a useful tool supporting ethnic minority communities in integrating with the world.
