Heartwarming story of "Adopted Children of Commune Police Officers" in Dak Lieng

Not only do they maintain peace in the villages, the police officers of Dak Lieng commune are also "fathers and uncles" to orphaned children. The "Police Officers' Adopted Children" model here has been writing a fairy tale in everyday life, igniting hope for those less fortunate.

October 2025 marks a memorable milestone as the Dak Lieng Commune Police Department launches the "Adopted Children of Commune Police Officers" model.

Accordingly, the organization has taken on the responsibility of sponsoring and supporting three orphaned children in extremely difficult circumstances in the area. Each child has a unique story and fate, but they all share the common experience of being orphans—one without a father, another without a mother, or one having lost both of the greatest pillars of their lives.

Understanding these disadvantages, the commune's police officers have volunteered to become fathers, uncles, and mothers, extending their arms to protect the children so they no longer feel alone on their journey to adulthood.

Among them, the circumstances of H Nhịp Êung (born in 2013, residing in Ja Tu village) are particularly heartbreaking. When she was only two years old, she had to say goodbye to her father due to a serious illness. Before she could even recover from that grief, at the age of nine, her mother also passed away, leaving her to live with her maternal grandparents.

Police officers from Dak Lieng commune visited the family of H Nhip Eung in Ja Tu village.

In their small house, Mrs. H Ban Eung, H Nhip's grandmother, said emotionally, "My husband and I are getting old, and our health is failing, but because we love our orphaned grandchild, we have to try to hold on to our garden and fields, hoping to raise her to be a good person. We are poor, and our only source of food and clothing depends on a few precarious plots of land. Many nights I lie awake thinking about her future, my heart aching..." From October 2025, the Dak Lieng Commune Police have taken H Nhip in, providing her with 1 million VND per month, along with practical gifts on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). This has eased some of the burden of providing for her family, giving her grandparents more peace of mind knowing she can continue attending school.

In M'liêng village, a makeshift corrugated iron house, about 30 square meters in size, is the refuge of two unfortunate souls: H Mơn Ênuôl (11 years old) and her aunt, H Srông Ênuôl (73 years old). H Mơn's circumstances are extremely difficult; she has no father, and her mother passed away more than four years ago after a long battle with cancer. Since her mother's death, H Srông has become H Mơn's only support. Sadly, H Srông is disabled in both legs, and all her daily activities are confined to a small bed and the cement floor, using only her hands. The lives of the aunt and niece depend solely on disability benefits.

"I'm so happy that the local police officers are so caring and providing monthly financial support. This money not only helps my niece and me have food to eat, but also gives H. Mon more confidence to continue going to school, so she doesn't feel abandoned in this world."

Ms. H Srong Enuol , the maternal aunt of H Mon Enuol (11 years old).

Implementing the "Police Officer's Adopted Child" model, starting in October 2025, the Dak Lieng commune police force has been sponsoring H. Mon, committing to providing 1 million VND per month in support.

This funding was voluntarily contributed by the officers and soldiers in the unit, and also raised from organizations and individuals, with the hope of helping H. Mon have better conditions to continue her education.

Mrs. H Srong said emotionally, “I am old and frail, and I can no longer walk. Sometimes I worry that if I pass away, no one will take care of my granddaughter, H Mon. I am so grateful for the care and monthly financial support from the commune police officers. This money not only helps my granddaughter and me have food to eat, but also gives H Mon more confidence to continue going to school, so she doesn't feel abandoned in this world.”

Major Nguyen Trung Thanh, Deputy Head of the Dak Lieng Commune Police, said that in addition to providing regular financial support, the unit always pays special attention to the children's families in their daily lives. During holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), International Children's Day, or before the start of the new school year, the unit sends officers to visit, give books, clothes, and necessities. The officers and soldiers of the unit treat the children as if they were family members. This support is not just about material value; more importantly, it's about providing emotional companionship, helping the children feel warmth and trust to overcome adversity.

These noble deeds have contributed to enhancing the image of police officers serving the people, spreading profound humanitarian values, and strengthening the close bond between the police force and the local people.
