Bustling central bus station
On February 25th and 26th (the 9th and 10th days of the first lunar month), the "Passenger Drop-off Area" of Da Nang Central Bus Station remained bustling with passengers disembarking. The majority were students and workers from other provinces and cities returning to Da Nang for study and work.
A staff member of the Manh La bus company, which operates the Thai Binh ( Hung Yen province) - Da Nang route, shared that before Tet (Lunar New Year), the company mainly picked up passengers from Da Nang heading north to return to their hometowns for family reunions. From the 4th day of Tet until now, passengers boarding the bus from the north have mainly returned to the city to live, study, and work.
According to Mr. Pham Loi, Director of Da Nang Transport and Bus Station Management Joint Stock Company (the unit managing Da Nang Central Bus Station), as predicted, from February 8-16 (i.e., the 21st to 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake), passengers mainly traveled to the northern provinces or to the Central Highlands.
According to statistics for the aforementioned period, Da Nang Central Bus Station recorded 4,663 departures, transporting a total of 112,322 passengers. Compared to the same period last year, the number of vehicles increased by 5.76%, and the number of passengers increased by 11.21%. The above figures do not include the volume of vehicles and passengers using public buses.
After the Lunar New Year holiday, engineer Le Van Tuyen (residing in Lien Chieu ward) chose to travel by sleeper bus back to Phan Thiet ( Lam Dong province) so that he could arrive on the morning of the 10th to continue working on the resettlement area serving the North-South high-speed railway project passing through the area.
According to statistics from the Da Nang Bus Station Management and Transportation Joint Stock Company, from February 17th to February 26th (the 1st to the 10th day of the first lunar month), Da Nang Central Bus Station had 4,434 buses carrying 79,082 passengers. On February 26th alone (the 10th day of the first lunar month), Da Nang Central Bus Station had 493 buses departing, carrying 8,149 passengers. The majority of passengers traveled to southern provinces and cities.
"Passenger traffic at the central bus station has increased compared to the same period last year. We have prevented congestion and ensured passengers do not have to stay overnight due to a shortage of buses," said Mr. Pham Loi.

Safety is paramount.
According to statistics from February 25th, Dai Loc Bus Station (Dai Loc commune) had a total of 11 buses departing, with 10 buses going to Ho Chi Minh City and 1 bus going to Lam Dong. A representative from the Dai Loc Bus Station management board stated that the station has 7 registered companies operating inter-provincial routes, including Trung Tran Hoa, Viet Tuyet, Phuong Vy, Phuong Trang, Trung Nam, Bich Nga, and Xuan Hai. The busiest day for bus departures was February 8th, with 20 buses.
Mr. Pham Loi shared that, thankfully, up to this point in the peak campaign to serve the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse and the Spring Festival season of 2026, no vehicles have had to be transferred or unloaded due to violations of carrying more than the permitted quantity or violating transportation regulations, and have been brought to the terminal by the authorities.
The unit is strengthening coordination with the police of An Khe and Hoa Khanh wards and the professional departments of the Da Nang City Police in ensuring security, order, traffic safety, and fire prevention at the Da Nang Central Bus Station.
To make it easier for people to access information, Da Nang Central Bus Station has installed large LED screens publicly displaying bus routes and specific ticket prices for each trip at the "Ticket Station". In addition, ticket prices are also posted at 30 ticket counters of transport companies that independently sell tickets within the station area. Before issuing departure orders, the Dispatching Department will carefully check the vehicle documents and driver's licenses of the vehicle owner and driver to ensure compliance with regulations.
Mr. Pham Loi stated that since entering the peak period of the campaign, especially during the Tet holiday, the unit has always received close attention, encouragement, and guidance from the Director of the Department of Construction, as well as the Head and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for passenger transport services during the Tet holiday of the Year of the Horse and the Spring Festival of 2026. The Tet holiday duty roster has been strictly adhered to by the company's staff. The application of information technology has helped stabilize the process of managing vehicles entering and exiting the terminal, ensuring smooth and continuous operation, especially during periods of increased traffic volume, contributing to the safe and smooth operation of the peak period so far.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Deputy Head of Da Nang Railway Station, shared that from February 8th to 16th (corresponding to the 21st to 29th of the 12th lunar month), the station received and dispatched 264 passenger trains with 33,827 passengers. Statistics from February 17th to 24th (corresponding to the 1st to 8th of the 1st lunar month) show Da Nang Railway Station received and dispatched 213 passenger trains with 39,771 passengers. Notably, on the evening of the 29th of the 12th lunar month, the station coordinated the welcoming, New Year greetings, and farewell of passengers boarding the SE7 train to Ho Chi Minh City, creating a positive impression of a friendly, hospitable, and civilized city.
