[Photo] Norwegian Ambassador cooks salmon for diners

On June 3, the Norwegian Seafood Council and other units opened the Norwegian Seafood Festival in Vietnam at Vincom Mega Mall Times City (Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi).

At the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway, Ms. Hilde Solbakken, together with the chefs prepared and cooked salted Norwegian salmon for visitors to enjoy.

Ambassador Solbakken said that the festival will bring the taste of Norway to seafood lovers in Hanoi in particular and across Vietnam in general: “Norway is not only a seafood country but also a responsible seafood country. It's also easy to see why the salmon has become a symbol of Norway. Every day more than 14 million meals of Norwegian salmon are served and enjoyed by diners around the world. Our salmon is exported to more than 100 markets and has become a true global star.”

Mr. Asbjorn Warvik Rortveit - Southeast Asia Regional Director, Norwegian Seafood Council - said that the festival not only stops at enjoying the delicious taste of Norwegian seafood but also contributes to promoting and strengthening the partnership between Vietnam and Norway.

For fresh salmon, the key point is that Norway takes a holistic, ecosystem-based approach to fishing and aquaculture, with strict regulations to protect every species in Norwegian waters.
