Goal reports that Betis have increased their bid to £30 million, but negotiations remain slow. This has frustrated the La Liga club, who are considering shifting their focus to other targets.
Betis chairman Angel Haro commented on the current situation: "From a financial perspective, everything needs to be within our means. Buying players depends on the price Manchester United puts up."
Mr. Haro also stated that a loan deal would be more feasible than a permanent transfer, given MU's current financial requirements. "We are trying to bring Antony in, but if it doesn't work out, I don't think it's a failure. It's difficult to bring in a quality player at such a high cost," the Betis president added.
Following a successful loan spell in Spain, Betis are keen to secure Antony's services on a long-term contract. The Brazilian striker, however, only wants to return to Betis this summer.
Betis will have to compete with Atletico Madrid in the race to sign Antony. A move to Spain is a likely scenario for Antony this summer, whether on a permanent transfer or loan.
Currently, Antony has been removed from Manchester United's squad for their US tour. The striker is in Manchester, waiting for an opportunity to join Betis.
