During the Lunar New Year holidays, wherever we go, we see women wearing elegant, graceful, and brightly colored ao dai dresses. It can be affirmed that the ao dai has become an indispensable "specialty" for women every spring.

Considered the "national costume," the ao dai has long been the preferred attire for important events and the Lunar New Year celebrations. Walking along streets, visiting temples and pagodas, shopping at flower markets, or browsing social media, one can see the vibrant colors of ao dai everywhere, worn by women during this Tet holiday.

Today's ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) is more diverse in style and material, making it easy for everyone to choose an ao dai that suits their style with a wide range of materials, from silk, brocade, velvet, and chiffon... from traditional plain ao dai to modernized ao dai with patterns and bright, gentle colors, bringing a youthful, radiant beauty, suitable for the vibrant atmosphere of spring.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Be from An Binh commune and her children wore traditional Vietnamese ao dai dresses for a spring photoshoot.

As in previous years, this year, the children and grandchildren of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Be (94 years old) from An Binh commune came to offer incense to their ancestors and celebrate the Lunar New Year wearing colorful ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses). In particular, her children and grandchildren made her a beautiful bright yellow ao dai. Mrs. Nguyen Thu Quyen, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Be's daughter, expressed: "Seeing my mother wearing the new ao dai made all the children and grandchildren very happy. The whole family wore ao dai to wish her and my grandmother a Happy New Year, and took pictures with her during the spring outing and New Year's photo shoot."

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thien Trang, owner of a traditional Vietnamese dress (áo dài) fabric shop in Long Duc ward, has a deep love for áo dài and a desire to spread that love to all women. Initially, she sold áo dài fabric and hired people to sew áo dài for her, and now she has expanded to include ready-made áo dài. In recent years, the number of áo dài sold has increased significantly during Tet (Vietnamese New Year), which makes her very happy. Every year, she wears áo dài with her family and close friends to celebrate the Lunar New Year throughout Tra Vinh province.

Ms. Thien Trang expressed: "The ao dai is not just clothing, but a symbol of culture, a connection between generations, and an indispensable part of the spiritual life of Vietnamese people. For me, the more I spread my love for the ao dai to more women, the happier I feel! Therefore, in the days leading up to Tet, when the number of buyers increases, instead of raising prices, I reduce them by 10% and give away extra accessories to encourage women to wear ao dai during the spring festival."

Ms. Le Thi Kim Thoa from Cang Long commune expressed: "The ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) is not just clothing; it's a bridge connecting the past with the present, an affirmation of identity amidst the flow of integration. As a teacher, I and many of my colleagues really love the ao dai. During Tet (Vietnamese New Year), we wear ao dai to go out and take Tet photos. For me, taking Tet photos in ao dai is not just a fashion trend, but also a way to preserve and promote traditional cultural values in modern life."

At the same time, she often teaches her children, grandchildren, and students about the meaning of each style of ao dai, how to walk, stand, and speak while wearing it, so that they understand that wearing an ao dai means embracing an entire culture. This is truly a very encouraging sign for preserving national culture. Currently, many young people also love and actively choose to wear ao dai during Tet, demonstrating a natural and approachable cultural approach, contributing to spreading the image of ao dai in modern life. It's a way of telling a cultural story and promoting the beauty of traditional clothing to international friends.

The colorful ao dai dresses, illuminated by the spring sunshine, make the Tet atmosphere more intimate and poetic, allowing everyone to feel that "ao dai truly suits the spring weather and the beginnings of the new year." At the same time, they connect the past and present, creating a warm, harmonious, and joyful atmosphere for the first days of the year.
