In their two most recent matches in 2022, Vietnam won 4-0 at home and drew 0-0 away.

Despite having to play on an artificial turf pitch that isn't their forte, the Vietnamese team is still considered far superior to the Singaporean team and is expected to dominate the match. However, with the home and away format, coach Kim Sang-sik's players will not take risks and will exercise caution, as they still have the advantage of playing the second leg at home in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ).
