In a statement at the Awe Dropping event held in the early hours of September 10th (Vietnam time), CEO Tim Cook affirmed that the iPhone Air delivers "professional performance in a slim and lightweight design." This model replaces the iPhone Plus line and is seen as Apple's answer to Samsung's ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge.

The iPhone Air boasts the thinnest design ever in the iPhone family.

The iPhone Air features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. According to Apple, this is the "most durable" design ever, with a ceramic casing surrounding a titanium frame on both sides.
The iPhone Air's power is in no way inferior.
Apple launches the 'breakthrough' iPhone Air at $999.
The new product comes with the A19 Pro chip, said to be the most powerful iPhone chip to date, combined with Apple's new C1x modem for speeds twice as fast as the previous generation. In addition, the iPhone Air is equipped with the new N1 chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread features.
Despite its slim and lightweight design, Apple promises the iPhone Air has "all-day" battery life, with up to 40 hours of video playback. To optimize battery life, the product only supports eSIM. Adaptive Power mode in iOS 26 also helps improve battery life.

The phone is promised to have the "most durable" design.

In terms of cameras, the iPhone Air features a single 48MP camera, the same as the iPhone 16e, combined with an improved Photonic Engine image processor for superior image quality. Notably, users can simultaneously record selfies and capture what's happening in front of them thanks to the Dual Capture Video feature. On the front is an 18MP selfie camera with Center Stage support, which automatically brings everyone into the frame without needing to rotate the phone.

The iPhone Air is available in colors such as black, white, beige, and light blue. Apple also introduced several new accessories for the iPhone Air, including an ultra-thin clear case and a reinforced polycarbonate case, both of which come with a new crossbody strap.
The launch of the iPhone Air coincided with the release of iOS 26, the new operating system with the Liquid Glass design language that introduced several transparent navigation elements and icons. While this interface generated excitement, it also sparked considerable debate during the testing phase.
