Amid rumors that Apple would soon bring fingerprint sensors back to iPhones, a recent report from MacRumors indicates that Apple has temporarily halted development of Touch ID fingerprint recognition technology for its iPhone product line.

Therefore, the iPhone 16 generation will almost certainly not be equipped with this technology by Apple. In fact, some recent leaks have even revealed that the next-generation iPhone SE will also switch to using Face ID.
However, there are still quite a few leaks suggesting that Apple is researching under-display fingerprint technology and may launch it in 2026.
Previously, Apple Insider reported that the company was researching a new heat dissipation solution for the iPhone 16 generation. This technology will use graphene material combined with a metal battery casing to increase heat dissipation efficiency.
Graphene has a heat conductivity 10 times higher than copper. The addition of a heat sink made of graphene is expected to become a new solution to help the iPhone 16 quickly dissipate heat passively to the outside.
In addition, PhoneArena also reported that Apple is testing a prototype iPhone 16 Pro with a punch-hole display. This punch-hole is where the selfie camera is located. Meanwhile, the Face ID facial recognition system has been hidden beneath the screen.
