ASEAN All Stars beat MU 1-0

(PLVN) - ASEAN All Stars played confidently against MU and won 1-0 against a higher rated opponent.

Although he only had 2 days to work with the ASEAN All Stars team, coach Kim Sang Sik still built a good squad to play a friendly match with MU at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia). With a 1-0 victory over MU, Mr. Kim Sang Sik made an impression on his coaching talent when facing a big club in the English Premier League.

Hai Long was sent onto the field by Mr. Kim Sang Sik in the first half. He played energetically, confidently and had many shots towards goalkeeper Onana in the first half.

The first 45 minutes of the first half witnessed the confidence and excitement from Kim Sang Sik and his team. In the 26th minute, Reyes, a Filipino player, shot the ball low into the corner, forcing Onana, the Red Devils, to show off his talent.

The last 15 minutes of the first half saw MU rise up. Kobie Mainoo had 2 remarkable shots but could not overcome the well-organized defense of ASEAN All Stars.

In the second half, coach Kim Sang Sik decided to withdraw Hai Long from the field. Hoang Duc, Duy Manh, and Van Vi were the Vietnamese players sent onto the field. Coach Amorim brought in Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, and Garnacho to strengthen MU's attack.

Hoang Duc created 2 outstanding situations when he was put on the field. He had many clever passes. In the 86th minute, Hoang Duc made a brilliant pass for Segecic to run down and face goalkeeper Tom Heaton but could not score.

The only goal was scored in the 71st minute, from a pass from Segecic in the middle, Myanmar winger Maung Maung Lwin successfully broke MU's offside trap, calmly finished diagonally to beat Tom Heaton, giving ASEAN All Stars a 1-0 lead.

The final minutes saw MU's efforts fail. Even when goalkeeper Tom Heaton stepped up to join the attack, MU still could not score an equalizer and had to accept a 1-0 defeat. MU will continue to travel to Hong Kong (China) for the Asian tour.
