ASEAN All Stars beat MU 1-0

(PLVN) - ASEAN All Stars played confidently against MU and won 1-0 against their higher-rated opponent.

Despite having only two days to work with the ASEAN All Stars team, coach Kim Sang Sik still managed to build a good squad for the friendly match against Manchester United at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia). With a 1-0 victory over MU, Kim Sang Sik made a strong impression as a coach when facing a major club from the English Premier League.

Hai Long was brought onto the field by coach Kim Sang Sik in the first half, and he played energetically, confidently, and had several shots on goal against goalkeeper Onana during the first half.

The first 45 minutes saw confidence and enthusiasm from Kim Sang Sik's team. In the 26th minute, Reyes, the Filipino player, fired a low shot diagonally into the net, forcing Onana of the Red Devils to make a save.

The final 15 minutes of the first half saw a resurgence from MU. Kobie Mainoo had two notable shots on goal, but they were thwarted by the well-organized ASEAN All Stars defense.

In the second half, coach Kim Sang Sik decided to substitute Hai Long off the field. Hoang Duc, Duy Manh, and Van Vi were the Vietnamese players brought on. Coach Amorim brought in Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, and Garnacho to strengthen MU's attack.

Hoang Duc created two notable opportunities after being brought on as a substitute. He made several intelligent passes. In the 86th minute, Hoang Duc delivered a brilliant through pass to Segecic, who raced down to face goalkeeper Tom Heaton but was unable to score.

The only goal was scored in the 71st minute, from a through ball by Segecic in the center of the field, Myanmar winger Maung Maung Lwin successfully beat the offside trap of MU, calmly finished with a diagonal shot to beat Tom Heaton and give ASEAN All Stars a 1-0 lead.

The final minutes saw Manchester United's efforts go to waste. Even with goalkeeper Tom Heaton joining the attack, MU couldn't find an equalizer and had to accept a 1-0 defeat. MU will continue their Asian tour in Hong Kong (China).
