In Germany, Borussia Dortmund hosted PSV at home. The home team at Signal Iduna Park launched an attack right from the opening whistle. They relentlessly pressed their opponents and scored after just three minutes. The goalscorer was Jadon Sancho with a shot from outside the penalty area. The ball traveled low and fast, leaving the PSV goalkeeper with no chance to save it.

Both teams then had several chances, but it wasn't until injury time of the second half that Marco Reus sealed a 2-0 victory for Dortmund with a gentle finish. Winning 2-0 against PSV in the second leg, Dortmund secured a 3-1 aggregate victory over two legs and advanced to the quarter-finals.

In the match played in Spain, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan treated the audience to an emotional game. After losing 0-1 in the first leg, coach Simeone's team pushed forward in attack when playing the second leg at their home stadium, Metropolitano.

However, poor finishing meant Atletico Madrid not only failed to score but also conceded first. In the 33rd minute, Barella penetrated the penalty area before delivering a perfect pass for Dimarco to finish and find the back of the net against Atletico Madrid.

With the aggregate score already 2-0 in favor of Inter, Atletico had no choice but to push forward. After many attempts, they finally scored an equalizer in the second leg. Pavard's misplaced clearance inadvertently became a pass for Griezmann to turn and fire the ball into the net against Inter Milan.

In the second half, Atletico continued to maintain pressure, and as the match drew to a close, the home team scored again. In the 87th minute, Depay made a run to receive the ball in the penalty area, then turned and fired a superb shot past goalkeeper Sommer, bringing the aggregate score to 2-2.

This result forced the two teams into extra time. No goals were scored in the 30 minutes of extra time, and the match was decided on penalties. In the shootout, three Inter players missed their penalties, and Atletico won 3-2 to officially secure the final spot in the quarter-finals of the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League.
