Hieu wants to stay and serve in the navy.
Episode 30 of "The War Without Borders," airing on the evening of October 24th, revealed a scene where Hieu (Tran Kien) and Thai (Viet Hoang) have become close friends after a long period of animosity.
As their military service was nearing its end, Hieu and Thai had become close friends.
As his military service was nearing its end, Hieu confided in Thai: "Just a short while ago, I was thrown in here and thought I wouldn't be able to survive and get out, but now I think it's a blessing to have lived in this environment."
At this point, Thai unexpectedly asked Hieu if he intended to pursue a professional career. This left Hieu extremely conflicted, as he had to choose between leaving the army and returning to his grandmother, or continuing with the work he had begun to love.
The grandmother fears she will lose her grandson.
Before the end of his military service, Hieu and his comrades participated in live firing exercises. Experiencing the heroic atmosphere and practicing the skills they had learned, Hieu felt overjoyed and overwhelmed with emotion.
Hieu and his friends participated in military exercises and fired live ammunition.
When she called to check on him, Hieu proudly told her about his recent experiences. Seemingly sensing his joy, she felt happy too. However, when Hieu shared his intention to become a naval soldier and mentioned the words "live ammunition," she was stunned and filled with sorrow. Perhaps her grief stemmed from memories of her husband and son who had sacrificed their lives.
The grandmother was worried when she heard her grandson mention the words "live bullets" and his desire to become a navy soldier.
Will his grandmother object to his decision? Will Hieu give up his dream of staying in the navy to please her? The answer will be revealed in episode 30 of "The War Without Borders," airing tonight on VTV1.
