This is not only an important test to assess training results, but also a milestone marking the maturity of each soldier after months of hard work on the training ground.
Under the early summer sun, the training ground seemed even hotter due to the determined atmosphere of the young soldiers. One by one, they stepped into their positions to perform their duties. Although they had been trained and practiced many times, when facing the official test, many soldiers still felt nervous and anxious.

The first shots rang out, then grenades were released from their hands, and explosive charges were safely detonated... Each completed task represented a time when the soldiers surpassed themselves, overcoming the first pressures and challenges of their military life.
Soldier Pham Duc Phong, Squad 3, Platoon 1, Company 1, New Recruit Training Battalion, 244th Regiment, shared: “Before the official test, I was a little nervous. However, thanks to regular training and encouragement from officers at all levels, I quickly calmed down, focused on performing the correct postures and movements, and was determined to achieve the best possible results.”
Watching the decisive and precise movements on the training ground today, few would know that just nearly three months ago, many soldiers were still unfamiliar with the military environment, unaccustomed to the collective routines and high-intensity training. Through each day of training, from drill sessions and infantry combat techniques lessons to the various exercises on the training ground, the soldiers have gradually matured in terms of physical fitness, awareness, and courage.

Joy was evident on the face of soldier Hoang Van Cuong, Squad 2, Platoon 1, Company 1, New Recruit Training Battalion, after successfully completing the tests with good results. Cuong emotionally shared: “I am very happy to have done well in the tests. In particular, achieving an excellent score in grenade throwing is a motivation for me to continue striving and training even better. Through this test, I feel I have matured a lot compared to my first days in the army.”
For many new recruits, the biggest challenge lies not in technique but in their ability to overcome their own psychological barriers. This is because it is their first time practicing with live ammunition, grenades, and explosives.
Soldier Nguyen Quang Vinh, Squad 1, Platoon 1, Company 1, New Recruit Training Battalion, recalled: “While waiting for my turn to be tested, I was quite nervous, especially during the grenade throwing exercise. But when I started, I reminded myself to stay calm and do exactly what I had learned. After completing the test, I felt much more relieved and confident.”

According to the unit commander, the inspection results accurately reflect the quality of the regiment's training, as well as the sense of responsibility and determination of the officers and soldiers throughout the period. During training, the officers consistently stayed close to the training ground, directly guiding and correcting the soldiers' exercises, helping them master techniques, improve their physical fitness, and cultivate psychological resilience.
Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Kien, Commander of Regiment 244 ( Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command), stated: “What we acknowledge is not only the results of the inspections but also the maturity of the new recruits after nearly three months of study and training. From young men who were initially hesitant when they first joined the army, they have now adapted well to the military environment, strictly adhere to discipline, possess strong character, high determination, and a spirit of solidarity and responsibility in performing their duties. This is the most important result of the new recruit training.”

The first three gunshots on the training ground will likely be an unforgettable memory for every young soldier. What they gain after the test is not just grades or evaluation results, but also confidence, courage, and the will to overcome difficulties, honed through each day of training.
From young men who were still somewhat hesitant on their first day of enlistment, today they are more steadfast in the ranks of the Vietnam People's Army. And the "three explosions" are also one of the first milestones on the journey of maturation for these young soldiers.
