The Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Public Security organizes for trainees to watch videos of traffic collisions and accidents before taking the driving test.
At the driving test waiting area of the Vocational Training and Driving Test Center of the People's Police Academy in Nguyet Vien Ward, hundreds of trainees attentively watched the images projected on the large screen before taking their driving test. The atmosphere became somber when serious traffic accidents with heavy casualties and property damage were shown. Interspersed between the videos were analyses by law enforcement officials, clearly indicating the causes of the accidents, the violations committed by the drivers, and relevant legal regulations. The clips, selected by the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, were diverse, ranging from seemingly minor collisions during traffic to particularly serious accidents. Through each situation, law enforcement officials pointed out a series of common violations such as failure to observe carefully, failure to maintain a safe distance, improper turning, driving in the wrong lane, using inappropriate speed limits, or exceeding the speed limit.
Notably, each scenario is not only analyzed from a legal perspective but also highlights potential accident risks. Learners gain clarity on the driver's responsibilities in specific situations, including potential administrative penalties or criminal liability for violating road safety regulations.
According to observations, many trainees, after watching the videos, expressed surprise at the potential dangers of behaviors they previously considered normal. Mr. Le Van Sy from Hoang Thanh commune, a trainee participating in the car driving test, shared: “After watching the real-life scenarios, I realized how dangerous many behaviors I once thought were normal can be. Just a little carelessness, lack of concentration, or failure to observe carefully can lead to serious accidents. These images have made me more aware of the responsibility of a driver. After I get my driver's license and participate in traffic, I will be more careful and strictly adhere to regulations to ensure safety for myself and those around me.”
According to the trainees, this was a "special lesson" before taking the driving test. The realistic and vivid images had a much stronger impact than simply learning theory from books. Through this, learners understood that operating a vehicle requires not only skill but also a sense of responsibility and adherence to the law in all situations.
According to the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Public Security, from May 2026, before taking the driving test, students must watch a 15-minute video of traffic accidents involving both motorcycles and cars. This is a new regulation implemented by the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security , and is a mandatory and crucial part of the training and testing process for driver's licenses. The goal of this activity is not only to help students identify common dangerous behaviors when participating in traffic but also to help them understand the legal consequences and personal responsibility they may face if they violate the law. By directly witnessing real-life situations, students will easily visualize the level of danger of each behavior, thereby enhancing their self-awareness in complying with the law.
Visual education through real-life images and videos is a highly effective method because it directly impacts the emotions and perceptions of learners. Instead of receiving knowledge in a dry, theoretical way, learners observe, analyze, and draw lessons from past incidents, thereby forming a sense of self-protection and community awareness. When every driver is clearly aware of the consequences of carelessness and the value of complying with the law, traffic accidents will gradually be curbed, contributing to protecting the lives, health, and happiness of each family as well as society as a whole. Incorporating visual education content before the driving test is not only a new approach in training but also reflects a shift from the goal of "teaching to pass the test" to "teaching to drive safely." This is a necessary step to improve the quality of drivers from the outset, contributing to building a civilized and safe traffic environment.
