PTI Insurance advances compensation for people on the bus in the Phong Chau bridge collapse

According to information from the Department of Transport of Phu Tho province, storm No. 3 caused heavy rain and floods, causing the Red River to rise, the rapid flow changed the terrain of the riverbed, toppled the T7 pillar and collapsed 2 main spans of Phong Chau bridge (spans 6 and 7). The Phong Chau bridge collapse swept away 1 truck, 1 car, 5 motorbikes, and 1 electric bicycle.

Immediately after receiving information about the accident, the PTI rescue and appraisal representative office in the Northern region - Northern Region Department directly contacted and worked with the customer who purchased this truck insurance to guide the coordination of information collection, quickly assess the loss and plan compensation for the customer. On September 13, PTI representative coordinated with Tu Lap Concrete Joint Stock Company to give advance compensation to the driver's family.

Regarding losses within the scope of insurance after storm No. 3, according to preliminary statistics as of September 12, PTI Insurance has recorded more than 9 cases of losses of technical and maritime assets; 200 cases of losses of motor vehicles, with an estimated compensation amount of over 500 billion VND. Up to now, PTI has completed the assessment of 200% of the claims for motor vehicles and is waiting for repair.

According to preliminary statistics of AAA Insurance up to this point, the company has recorded more than 410 cases of property, maritime, and motor vehicle losses; the personal insurance business has not recorded any cases of missing or death, with an estimated total compensation amount of more than 90 billion VND.
