Forest rangers in Doan Hung district are educating residents of Phu Lam commune on forest management and protection.
To ensure proper forest care and protection, the Doan Hung District Forest Management Unit has advised the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee to issue directives on forest protection and fire prevention and control; coordinated with district departments, agencies, and mass organizations, as well as communes, to strengthen the dissemination of laws on forest protection and fire prevention and control to the community, union members, association members, and students to raise awareness and responsibility in forest protection and fire prevention and control. The Unit collaborates with the police, military , forest management units, and localities with forests to strengthen forest security patrols and fire watch in key fire-prone areas during hot, dry weather; organizes the review and identification of areas at risk of forest fires; and strengthens grassroots teams and units, using the militia as the core force to proactively participate in forest fire prevention and control.
Furthermore, the unit coordinates with local authorities to closely manage and control the local population situation, strengthen inspection work, and strictly handle violations of the Forestry Law; proactively organize and deploy forces, coordinate with forest protection agencies at all levels and sectors to organize forest fire rescue and firefighting when forest fires occur. At the same time, the Forestry Department directs local forest rangers to advise the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes on the development and implementation of forest protection and fire prevention plans; effectively control the causes of forest fires and potential forest fire risks in the locality; review, consolidate, and prepare forces, equipment, tools, and logistics for forest firefighting according to the "four on-the-spot" principle. It implements comprehensive forest protection and fire prevention solutions, paying attention to key forest security areas and fire-prone areas. The district has organized timely warnings about forest fire risks and strictly maintained the forest fire fighting command duty system... Since the beginning of the year, the entire district has organized nearly 10 forest protection and fire prevention and control awareness sessions for hundreds of participants, and regularly broadcast information through the commune's public address system... In addition, the District Forest Management Unit, in coordination with the District Department of Agriculture and Environment and the commune authorities, has directed and mobilized people to plant more than 1,000 hectares of concentrated forest and take care of 3,400 hectares of planted forest.
Comrade Nguyen Duy Lam - Deputy Head of the District Forest Protection Department, said: In the coming time, the Department will continue to effectively implement forest management and protection, and forest fire prevention and control; coordinate with mass organizations, organizations, and forest owners to protect and care for planted forests. In particular, it will strengthen the dissemination of information on the responsibilities of local Party committees, authorities, and communities in forest management and protection; strengthen inspection and review, promptly detect, prevent, and strictly handle cases of violations of laws on forest management and protection.
