Fourteen out of 15 Barcelona players reached the World Cup knockout stage. |
After the group stage concluded, 14 out of 15 players from the Camp Nou team secured their places in the knockout round. Notably, only Ronald Araujo and the Uruguayan national team had to bid farewell to the tournament early.
The Spanish national team boasts the most Barcelona players. Eight players – Lamine Yamal , Pedri, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, Joan Garcia, Gerard Martin, and Marc Bernal – all convincingly advanced through the group stage with "La Roja".
Besides the Spanish players, many other Barcelona stars also contributed to their national teams' progress to the knockout round. Jules Kounde was a key factor in France's advancement, while Frenkie de Jong continued to showcase his class in midfield to help the Netherlands get through the group stage.
England also has Barcelona's Anthony Gordon representing them in the knockout round. Meanwhile, Raphinha and Brazil have secured their place in the next round, preparing to face Japan on June 30th.
Portugal advanced from the group stage thanks to the contributions of Joao Cancelo. Separately, Hamza Abdelkarim came on as a substitute in all three of Egypt's matches, helping the African side secure qualification.
The fact that 14 players will continue to compete in the 2026 World Cup is further proof of Barcelona's squad depth and influence on the world football map.
