On July 7, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Deputy Director, Head of the City Police Investigation Agency attended and directed the conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2023 of the Criminal Police force.

In recent times, under the close leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the City Police, the criminal force of the City Police has closely followed the practical situation of criminal activities, always doing a good job of grasping, analyzing and forecasting the situation; promptly detecting emerging and complicated criminal issues to organize forces, synchronously deploying measures and solutions to fight and strongly suppress criminal crimes, contributing to curbing the increase of crimes.
The units have seriously and promptly deployed specialized topics and plans in preventing and combating crimes against social order, while strictly complying with the law in investigation, arrest, and handling, preventing wrongful convictions and letting criminals escape.
In the first 6 months of 2023, the Criminal Police force of Hanoi City Police has synchronously deployed solutions and measures to reduce the number of cases by 4.6% compared to the same period in 2022; investigated and discovered 1,577 criminal cases, arrested 3,405 subjects, reaching a rate of 90.2%, including 168 very serious and especially serious cases, reaching a rate of 98.8%.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the achievements and requested the Criminal Police force to promote achievements, overcome shortcomings, and continue to seriously and effectively implement 6 key tasks in the last 6 months of 2023, focusing on ensuring absolute safety for major holidays and political events taking place in the capital .
