On July 7th, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Deputy Director and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ho Chi Minh City Police - attended and chaired the conference to review the work of the first six months of the year and implement tasks for the last six months of 2023 for the Criminal Police force.

Over the past period, under the close leadership and guidance of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the City Police, the criminal investigation force of the City Police has closely monitored the practical situation of criminal activity, always doing a good job of understanding, analyzing, and forecasting the situation; promptly detecting prominent and complex criminal issues to organize forces and implement comprehensive measures and solutions to strongly combat and suppress criminal activity, contributing to curbing the increase in crime.
The units have seriously and promptly implemented specialized topics and in-depth plans in preventing and combating social order crimes, while strictly adhering to the law in investigation, arrest, and prosecution, ensuring that no wrongful convictions occur and no criminals escape justice.
In the first six months of 2023, the Criminal Police force of Hanoi City Police implemented a comprehensive set of solutions and measures to curb crime, resulting in a 4.6% reduction in the number of cases compared to the same period in 2022; investigating and solving 1,577 criminal cases, arresting 3,405 suspects, achieving a success rate of 90.2%, including 168 very serious and especially serious cases, achieving a success rate of 98.8%.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the achievements made and requested the Criminal Police force to build on these achievements, overcome shortcomings, and continue to seriously and effectively implement the six key tasks for the last six months of 2023, focusing on ensuring absolute safety during major holidays and political events taking place in the capital city .
