TPO - Immediately after the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao sea route officially came into operation, some passengers complained about encountering difficulties when traveling from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port, the point where passengers from Ho Chi Minh City travel to Con Dao.

According to information from Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company, the Ho Chi Minh City-Con Dao route uses the Thang Long high-speed ferry and has a route from Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port (in Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City) to Con Dao.

Because the Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port is located more than 20km by road from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc Express has arranged a free shuttle bus service from 23/9 Park (District 1) to facilitate passengers traveling by ferry. However, due to the new operation, passengers are not yet familiar with pre-booking the shuttle bus, leading to the company being unable to proactively arrange enough buses.

Specifically, on the morning of May 16th, only about 50 passengers had pre-registered, and Phu Quoc Express arranged enough vehicles for this number. However, at 23/9 Park, many passengers who had not pre-registered for shuttle service still boarded the vehicles, leading to overcrowding. Phu Quoc Express proactively arranged additional vehicles, but passengers had to wait for the new vehicles.

Similarly, on the return journey from Con Dao to Ho Chi Minh City, many passengers did not book the shuttle bus from Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port to the city center, so the ferry company did not arrange transportation. Many passengers then proactively called taxis, but because Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port is far from the city center, the number of taxis was insufficient to meet the needs of hundreds of passengers at the same time, leading to some passengers having to wait a long time to find a taxi.

A representative from Phu Quoc Express affirmed that the company has a fairly specific plan for transporting passengers, and even with a number reaching thousands, the company can still arrange enough transportation to meet customer needs.

Phu Quoc Express advises passengers to proactively register for shuttle service when purchasing tickets so that the company can arrange transportation to meet their travel needs conveniently.

The Greenline DP boat will transport passengers from Bach Dang Wharf (District 1).

Regarding the organization of passenger transfers from Bach Dang Wharf to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port using the 5-star Greenlines DP high-speed ferry, Mr. Tran Song Hai - Director of Greenlines DP Technology Co., Ltd. (the company managing the Greenlines DP high-speed ferry) said that the company is ready to organize the transfers but currently needs legal support from relevant parties.

On May 16th, passengers who had not booked a transfer still arrived at Bach Dang Wharf, so the company did not arrange a boat for them.

"Passengers need to register for the transfer service when purchasing tickets so that we have the information to develop a plan. In addition, transporting passengers from Bach Dang Wharf to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port requires legal support from the investor and relevant parties to operate in accordance with regulations," said Mr. Tran Song Hai.
