The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of Hue city, along with a large number of tourists and local people.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized that the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, themed “Ancient Capital – New Opportunities,” concluded with many outstanding achievements, including over 170 cultural and tourism events and more than 6 million domestic and international tourists visiting Hue. Particularly noteworthy is the strong dissemination of images of the ancient capital of Hue across domestic and international media platforms. This is the clearest evidence of the renewed vitality of Hue tourism and affirms Hue's role as a unique cultural and tourism center of Vietnam.
The success of the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 stems not only from the efforts of the government, but also from the dedicated collaboration of the business community, artists, artisans, and international friends. Above all, it is the hospitality, civility, and responsibility of the people of Hue that have created a beautiful impression and meticulously cultivated the "Hue brand" in the hearts of friends and tourists from near and far.
According to the Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, building on the achievements already made, Hue will continue to implement a strategy for developing a smart, green, and sustainable heritage city, focusing on improving the quality of tourism products, linked to the heritage values and cultural identity of Hue; promoting digital transformation and international tourism promotion; and strengthening public-private cooperation in investing in tourism infrastructure and services. The goal is to cultivate a modern, dynamic Hue citizenry while preserving cultural depth and elegance. This is the journey for Hue to gradually transform itself, not only as a destination of memories but also as a city of the future, integrating and developing at the regional and international levels.
The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 has concluded, affirming the strong recovery and clear breakthrough of tourism in Hue city. In 2025, Hue city is expected to welcome approximately 6.3 million visitors, an increase of 61.5%; of which international visitors will reach 1.9 million, an increase of 40.6%; tourism revenue will reach over 13,000 billion VND, an increase of 64.4% compared to 2024; thereby making a significant contribution to the overall results of Vietnam's tourism industry. Through a series of rich, attractive, and widely disseminated events, the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 has contributed to introducing and promoting the tangible and intangible cultural values, unique scenic spots, and the identity of the people of provinces and cities nationwide, especially the ancient capital of Hue. Thereby, it contributes to enhancing the position and image of Vietnam and its people in the eyes of international friends, affirming Vietnam as a safe, friendly, attractive, and culturally rich destination.
At the closing ceremony, delegates, tourists, and locals enjoyed a spectacular artistic program themed "Ancient Capital - New Opportunities." On this occasion, the organizing committee also introduced Gia Lai province as the host locality for the National Tourism Year 2026.
