Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has arrived in New Delhi, beginning a three-day official visit to India with an agenda focused on trade and investment, key technologies, economic security, defense security, and cooperation on Indo-Pacific issues.

According to the plan, Ms. Takaichi will hold talks with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi within the framework of the 16th annual India-Japan Summit.
This event takes place against the backdrop of Asia's second and third-largest economies seeking to deepen their bilateral trade relationship.
During the period 2025-2026, trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 27 billion USD.
According to Indian media, during this visit, Prime Minister Takaichi expressed his desire to work with Prime Minister Modi to further advance the Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership to a new level, aiming to build a rules-based regional order, enhance autonomy, and promote prosperity for nations in the Indo-Pacific region.
