
Specifically, visa fees for students will increase from AUD 2,000 to AUD 2,500; for international students after graduation from AUD 4,600 to AUD 5,750; and for spouses/partners from over AUD 9,000 to AUD 11,710.
For foreign workers, the visa fee for skilled workers has increased from over AUD 4,900 to AUD 6,135; and for employer-sponsored workers, it has increased from AUD 3,200 to AUD 4,015.
Australian officials said this round of visa fee increases mainly focuses on visas that allow foreigners to stay in Australia for extended periods to study and work.
According to statistics, this increase in visa fees will bring Australia's budget approximately AUD 300 million. Previously, in the budget plan announced in May 2026, the country also projected collecting AUD 1.2 billion from fees over the next five years.
