In response, the U.S. partially lifted sanctions on Belarus's national airline Belavia, allowing it to maintain and purchase spare parts for its Boeing aircraft.
Natalia Eismont, spokeswoman for President Lukashenko, said on state television: "The President has signed an order pardoning 31 Ukrainian citizens who committed criminal offenses on our territory."

Ms. Eismont stated that this amnesty, requested by Ukraine, is part of "agreements reached between US President Donald Trump and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko." The purpose is to "facilitate the resolution of the armed conflict in the neighboring country," referring to the war in Ukraine.
These Ukrainian citizens, whose identities have not been revealed, are being handed over to Kyiv "right now," according to Eismont.
