Persistent with passion

To Thi Van Anh (29 years old, from Lam Dong) has a master's degree in theory and teaching methods of Mathematics, currently working at Tan Phu Secondary School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City). The 9X teacher is always full of enthusiasm, dynamism and devotion to her students.

Fire of the profession

Van Anh's motivation to pursue a career in education comes from her family tradition - her grandmother, mother, and aunts are all teachers.

Her mother taught Van Anh her first letters and instilled in her a deep sense of the profession. Growing up, she soon felt the quiet yet proud beauty of a teacher. Van Anh wondered: If one day she stood on the podium, would she have enough patience and understanding like her teachers?

That question nurtured in Van Anh the desire to become a person who inspires. When entering the pedagogical school, she clearly determined: Not only to learn to teach but also to inspire. Van Anh strives to improve her expertise, actively participates in experiential and creative activities, hoping to bring students close and vivid lessons.

There are some milestones that have contributed to the formation of Van Anh today. That is Loc Son Secondary School (Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province). Van Anh still has vivid memories of Mr. Chien, who taught math very attractively, helping her understand that knowledge will not be dry if the teacher is passionate enough; Ms. Hong, who teaches literature, is an example of dedication and care for her students. And now, it is Tan Phu Secondary School. There is a board of directors who always care and create conditions for teachers to develop; there are colleagues who wholeheartedly share their experiences. From her mother to respected teachers, all are the warm fire that helps Van Anh cultivate her passion, shape her career ideals and firmly step on the path of pedagogy.

Unlocking students' potential

Mathematics is an important foundation, opening up many attractive career opportunities in fields such as business, commerce, finance or banking. However, for Van Anh, choosing pedagogy is not simply choosing a career, but choosing a mission to live. Teaching mathematics - a subject that trains thinking and logic - is the way she contributes to cultivating the seeds of knowledge in the souls of learners. She wants to encourage and open up the potential of students, just like she was supported by dedicated teachers. Learning mathematics is not only to do the exercises correctly, but to apply it flexibly, in the direction of seeing - understanding - doing - applying. When connecting mathematics with everyday situations - such as data analysis, calculating expenses or planning - you will see that mathematics is present everywhere, not just in books. Van Anh has achieved many titles such as Excellent Head Teacher, Excellent Teacher at Thu Duc City level and many remarkable achievements in nurturing excellent students. She teaches many capacity development classes, STEM training, digital transformation... for managers and teachers of many schools.

In addition to teaching, Van Anh is also the author of more than 10 reference books, contributing to supporting teachers and students in the teaching and learning process. That is also a way for her to spread her knowledge more widely. Directly guided and oriented by Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thanh - author of the Math textbook Creative Horizon - Van Anh has become increasingly proficient in editing techniques and has a greater love for making educational books.

To pursue many goals at the same time, Van Anh always prioritizes and has a clear, specific plan for each stage. Therefore, she maintains balance, has reasonable time to rest and recharge. "When studying, I give my all, and when participating in activities, I give my all. Thanks to being proactive and disciplined, I can maintain my rhythm of life and complete my goals" - Van Anh said.

In the long term, she aims to build an active learning community - where teachers, students and parents work together with understanding, creativity and humanity. She herself is still persistent in improving her professional qualifications, while developing more reference materials on math, digital transformation, STEM, English math books... These are all useful learning tools, helping students access knowledge in a gentle, effective and modern way.

Van Anh aims to become a positive influencer in the field of education – not only in teaching but also in improving learning methods and building a creative and humane educational environment.

I believe that education is the most sustainable and fundamental way to change a person, a community and further, an entire country" - Van Anh confided.
