For To Thi Van Anh, every challenge is an opportunity for young people to grow. She is proud to dedicate herself wholeheartedly to her ambitions.

To Thi Van Anh (29 years old, from Lam Dong province) holds a Master's degree in the theory and methodology of teaching mathematics and currently works at Tan Phu Secondary School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City). This young teacher is always full of enthusiasm, dynamism, and dedication to her students.

Hun forges the fire of the craft.

Van Anh's motivation to pursue a career in education stems from her family tradition – her grandmother, mother, and aunts and uncles were all teachers.

Vân Anh's mother taught her the first letters of the alphabet and instilled in her a profound understanding of the teaching profession. Growing up, she quickly came to appreciate the quiet yet proud beauty of being a teacher. Vân Anh wondered: If one day she were to stand on the podium, would she have the patience and understanding that her teachers possess?

That question fueled Van Anh's aspiration to become an inspiring teacher. Upon entering teacher training college, she clearly defined her goal: not just to teach, but also to inspire. Van Anh diligently honed her professional skills, actively participated in experiential and creative activities, and hoped to bring her students engaging and relatable lessons.

Several factors have contributed to shaping Vân Anh into who she is today. These include Lộc Sơn Secondary School (Bảo Lộc City, Lâm Đồng Province). Vân Anh still vividly remembers her incredibly engaging math teacher, Mr. Chiến, who taught her that knowledge doesn't have to be dry if the teacher is dedicated; and Ms. Hồng, her literature teacher, who served as an example of dedication and unwavering care for her students. And now, there's Tân Phú Secondary School. There, the school administration is always supportive and creates opportunities for teachers' development; and colleagues are dedicated to sharing their experiences. From her mother to her respected teachers, all have been a warm flame, nurturing Vân Anh's passion, shaping her professional ideals, and guiding her on her teaching path.

Unlocking students' potential

Mathematics is a crucial foundation, opening up many attractive career opportunities in fields such as business, commerce, finance, and banking. However, for Van Anh, choosing to teach is not simply choosing a profession, but choosing a life mission. Teaching mathematics – a subject that cultivates critical thinking and logic – is her way of contributing to nurturing the seeds of knowledge in the hearts of her students. She wants to encourage and unlock the potential of her students, just as she herself was nurtured by dedicated teachers. Learning mathematics is not just about getting the answers right, but about applying it flexibly, following the approach of seeing, understanding, doing, and applying. When mathematics is connected to everyday situations – such as data analysis, expense calculation, or planning – it becomes apparent that mathematics is everywhere, not just in textbooks. Van Anh has garnered many accolades, including Excellent Homeroom Teacher, Excellent Teacher at the Thu Duc City level, and many significant achievements in nurturing gifted students. She teaches numerous capacity-building courses, STEM training, digital transformation workshops, and more for administrators and teachers at various schools.

In addition to teaching, Van Anh is also the author of more than 10 reference books, contributing to supporting teachers and students in the teaching and learning process. This is also a way for her to spread her knowledge more widely. Under the direct guidance and mentorship of Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thanh - the author of the "Creative Horizons" series of mathematics textbooks - Van Anh has become increasingly proficient in textbook compilation techniques and has developed a greater love for creating educational books.

To pursue multiple goals simultaneously, Van Anh always prioritizes and has a clear, specific plan for each stage. Therefore, she maintains balance and has sufficient time for rest and rejuvenation. "When studying, I dedicate myself completely, and when participating in activities, I give it my all. Thanks to being proactive and disciplined, I can maintain my pace of life and achieve my goals," Van Anh said.

In the long term, she aims to build a positive learning community – where teachers, students, and parents work together with understanding, creativity, and humanity. She herself continues to improve her professional skills while developing more reference materials on mathematics, digital transformation, STEM, English-language math books, etc. These are all useful learning tools that help students access knowledge in a gentle, effective, and modern way.

Van Anh aims to become a positive influencer in the field of education – not only in teaching but also in improving learning methods and building a creative and humane educational environment.

"I believe that education is the most sustainable and fundamental path to changing an individual, a community, and ultimately, an entire nation," Van Anh confided.
