Viet Duc Hospital has a new director.

On August 11th, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan officially presented the appointment decision to Dr. Duong Duc Hung, appointing him as Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan emphasized: Viet Duc Friendship Hospital has a long history closely linked to the history of the formation and development of Vietnamese medicine.

The Minister expressed his hope that, in his new position as Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Dr. Duong Duc Hung would inherit and develop the hospital's traditions, building Viet Duc Friendship Hospital into one of the leading hospitals in Vietnamese medicine.

For Mr. Duong Duc Hung, taking on the role of Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital felt like returning to a large, familiar "home."

Building and developing the hospital is both his heartfelt wish and an expression of gratitude to the place he has been associated with since the early days of his career as a surgical doctor.

Speaking emotionally at the ceremony, Mr. Duong Duc Hung expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Health and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for their trust, appointment, and the great responsibility entrusted to him.

At the same time, they affirmed their commitment to dedicating their entire heart, mind, and passion to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. What the hospital implements in the coming period is the answer to this promise: Viet Duc Friendship Hospital will always be a leading hospital in the medical field.

Dr. Duong Duc Hung was born in 1966 in Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province. Before assuming the position of Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Dr. Duong Duc Hung was the Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bach Mai Hospital, Director of the Institute of Medical Examination, and Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, Cardiovascular Institute (Bach Mai Hospital).

He was one of the outstanding students of Associate Professor and Academician Ton That Bach - a leading expert in cardiovascular and hepatobiliary surgery in Vietnam and the world.

Professionally, Dr. Duong Duc Hung is known as one of the leading experts in cardiovascular surgery nationwide. He has directly performed surgeries to save the lives of many critically ill patients and participated in training and mentoring many generations of cardiovascular residents, contributing to the development of cardiovascular surgery in Vietnam.
