To date, the stove system has been present in the flood-affected areas of 5 provinces and cities that were heavily affected by storms and floods during this period, including: Hanoi, Lao Cai, Bac Kan, Yen Bai and Ha Giang. In Yen Bai, Bac Kan, Ha Giang and Hanoi, the stove system is still "on fire".

According to Mr. De, the kitchen system currently provides 3,500 meals a day for people in flooded areas and forces. After 16 days of operation, the kitchen system has made every effort to provide 56,000 free meals.

“The mobile kitchen is a project that carries the value of love, sharing and mutual support. It demonstrates the spirit of solidarity of the Vietnamese people, helping each other in natural disasters and floods and ensuring that no one is left behind,” said Mr. De.

'Need help please call us'

The words “Need help please call us” appeared on the kitchen’s banner and attracted a lot of attention. Below the words were four contact phone numbers.

The words, the way of expression, the details of each address and the processing of the received information make anyone who sees it feel sad and touched by the warmth and kindness from each member who makes up this kitchen.

It is the joint efforts of more than 300 volunteers who are working together to keep the kitchens burning. They are members of 9 clubs and volunteer groups from many places such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh... gathering in the flooded areas.

Joining hands, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu - head of the Angel Heart Charity Club - Da Nang, shared that as a native of the Central region, a place that often has to live with storms and floods, he understands the urgent needs of people in flooded areas.

During his time in charge of the rice kitchen in Lao Cai, from the hot, completely free meals sent to people in flooded areas, Mr. Tu saw more clearly the timely support that this program brings.

“When we delivered hot meals to people in flooded areas, we received heartfelt emotions and sincere thanks. That was also the motivation for us to try to cook the best meals to share with people during this natural disaster,” said Mr. Tu.

Where there is need, there we are

Mr. Do Van De - President of the Vietnam Volunteer Community, head of the executive board of the mobile field kitchen - shared his plan to maintain the sustainable kitchen.

Not only in this period, from now on, "wherever there is a natural disaster, wherever there is a need, there we will be". All are based on the spirit of readiness, sharing and helping people with meals to fight hunger, creating motivation to overcome difficulties, natural disasters or epidemics.
