Implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, in Thanh Hoa city, many typical collectives and individuals have appeared with specific actions, not only having a profound influence in social life, but also contributing to the development of the homeland. Mr. Nguyen Van Thin, Party cell secretary of village 3, Thieu Van commune is one of such typical examples.

Born in the countryside of Thieu Van, 39 years ago, young man Nguyen Van Thin joined the army, directly participated in the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri ancient citadel, contributing to the immortal heroic song of revolutionary heroism. The country was no longer at war, in 1977, Mr. Thin returned to his hometown and worked at the People's Committee of Thieu Van commune. During nearly 9 years working at the People's Committee of the commune, he held many different positions. No matter what position he held, he always completed the assigned tasks well. In 1985, Mr. Thin retired from the People's Committee of Thieu Van commune to enjoy the joy of being with his family. However, with the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the spirit of a party member, he still enthusiastically participated in emulation movements launched by the locality. Enthusiastic about the common work of the village, Mr. Thin received the trust of cadres, party members and people. Therefore, in 1987, Mr. Thin was elected by the Party members in the Party cell of village 3 to hold the position of Party cell secretary. In his position as Party cell secretary, he not only promoted the sense of responsibility and dedication to work, but also directly propagated and mobilized the people to actively compete in labor production, develop the economy , and join hands to build a model new rural area.

Visiting the model new rural area with Mr. Thin, we could easily see that the construction of the village was quite methodical. Mr. Thin excitedly shared: “Solidarity is a good tradition of our nation. The spirit of solidarity was taught by our ancestors through the folk song: “One tree cannot make a forest, three trees together can make a high mountain”. Summarizing the tradition of solidarity of the nation into a truth of eternal value, President Ho Chi Minh clearly affirmed: “Solidarity, solidarity, great solidarity; Success, success, great success”. Engraved in his teachings, the village party cell always promotes the spirit of solidarity among cadres, party members, and people to build the homeland more and more prosperous. It is the spirit of solidarity that is the great resource for village 3 to have the transformation today”.

Village 3 has 149 households with 561 people and the village party cell has 11 party members. To gain the trust and consensus of the people, the party cell always upholds the spirit of "doing everything that is beneficial to the people, avoiding everything that is harmful to the people". At the same time, it promotes the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and party members to go first, do it first, and people trust and follow in developing the economy, maintaining environmental sanitation, building cultural life in residential areas, and joining hands to build infrastructure.

In early 2021, after being selected by the Party Committee and the government of Thieu Van commune to direct the model new rural area construction, the village party cell issued a thematic resolution on model new rural area construction. To put the resolution into practice and successfully implement the model new rural area construction, Mr. Thin and his comrades in the Party Committee discussed and agreed on the policy of mobilizing people's strength to repair and renovate the village cultural house and expand traffic routes. At the same time, he personally and the comrades of the village political organizations' association heads went to each household to propagate and explain to everyone the purpose and meaning of building a model new rural area. After being mobilized and propagated, the people of village 3 unanimously responded and voluntarily contributed more than 1.1 billion VND to renovate the cultural house, expand the main road of the village, have drainage ditches and install an electric lighting system, and solidify 1.8km of the main road in the fields, ensuring convenient transportation of goods for people all year round.

In addition, Mr. Thin also worked with the village leadership to actively encourage people to change the structure of crops and livestock, especially land accumulation, building high-yield and high-quality rice areas. Currently, the rice plants of village 3, Thieu Van commune have traceable origins to ensure food safety and adapt to climate change. In particular, the village Party cell has coordinated with the Commune Farmers' Association to encourage people to build production, business and aquaculture models that ensure environmental regulations. Accordingly, in the village there are currently 11 production and business establishments that ensure environmental standards, do not cause noise, dust and pollution to the surrounding environment. Thanks to the promotion of production, trade and services, the lives of people in village 3 have been improved, with average income per capita reaching 69.53 million VND/year.

According to the assessment of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Thieu Van commune, by the end of 2022, village 3 had completed 14/14 criteria of a model new-style rural village. That achievement is the result of the efforts of the cadres, party members and people of village 3, including the significant contribution of Mr. Thin. With a high sense of responsibility and dedication to the work of the community, we believe that Mr. Thin will continue to gather and mobilize the people's strength to make village 3 a livable countryside.
