On December 13, 2024, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province issued Plan No. 237/KH-UBND on "Popular AI Learning" for the period 2024-2025. Local leaders assigned specific tasks to all levels, sectors, agencies, and units to train and support officials, civil servants, employees, and citizens in learning and accessing the vast store of human knowledge through AI, contributing to the completion of the contents and tasks of the digital capacity development project in the province. This work will contribute to improving productivity and product quality using AI, opening up new job opportunities, and enhancing citizen satisfaction.
Following the principle that those with more knowledge of AI support those with less, and those with less knowledge guide those without, Thai Nguyen province has trained 300 provincial-level trainees, including officials, civil servants, and workers, to form a core group supporting various segments of society in accessing, acquiring knowledge, and applying AI to production, business, work, and social activities. These trainees organize learning classes on the luyenai.vn platform and groups such as "People Learning AI - Thai Nguyen," "Tea Region Learning AI," etc., with thousands of articles sharing knowledge and experience, attracting tens of thousands of likes and comments, and having a wide reach.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Dao Ngoc Tuat, "The 'AI learning for the masses' initiative in Thai Nguyen province is a groundbreaking and far-reaching innovation, affirming Thai Nguyen province's determination to apply technology and AI to promote the development of the digital economy and digital society, leading to sustainable socio-economic development."
Recently, various departments and agencies have organized numerous workshops and conferences to discuss solutions for promoting digital transformation and the application of AI in their operations. The Department of Science and Technology has organized several workshops, covering topics such as modernizing workspaces with Dell AI solutions and equipment, updating OEM solutions in the AI era, conquering the AI journey with Dell Technologies' network solutions, and applying AI in the daily work of officials and civil servants.
With approximately 300,000 members, the Provincial Youth Union and the Federation of Youth Associations have identified the pioneering role of the younger generation in the digital transformation and application of AI. This is the core force in over 2,200 community digital technology groups, directly reaching out to villages, hamlets, and residential areas to guide people and elderly Party members in installing and using digital applications and utilities such as C-Thainguyen, Thai Nguyen ID, VNeID, the Electronic Party Member Handbook, supporting people in accessing online public services, cashless payments, and promoting "People Learning AI".
According to Comrade Pham Thi Thu Hien, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to promote the "One Digital Skill for Every Young Person" movement, organize many in-depth training courses on AI, blockchain, e-commerce, digital communication skills, etc., so that union members and young people can master digital skills and be factors in spreading and supporting the community in accessing and applying digital technology in life.
In recent times, businesses and cooperatives in the province have actively studied and applied AI and supporting tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, etc., in document drafting, data analysis and processing, management, and operation, helping to automate work processes and improve management efficiency. Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, shared that by applying technology in management, the company can daily monitor the productivity, quality, and progress of work in each workshop and for nearly 20,000 workers. At the end of the day, each worker will know how much they earned.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, Nguyen Huy Dung, highly appreciated the fact that in the past period, departments, agencies, and localities have actively participated and issued separate implementation plans, suitable to practical conditions. The press has strongly promoted the program, and online AI learning groups have attracted a large number of members and are increasingly spreading widely. The province will continue to organize training and widely disseminate the "AI Learning for the People" program in various forms; with over 300 core members at the provincial level, each member will open at least 2 to 3 new courses, maintaining a network of community AI instructors to expand training to every commune and ward.
"With this initial success, Thai Nguyen province will spread the AI learning model to the grassroots level, creating a major step forward, enhancing comprehensive digital capabilities, and creating a solid foundation for the province's digital transformation process," emphasized Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung.
